That would be unreal if true. Has it been said that Thad is building something special in C-Bus?

I am by no means a recruiting guru, and I don't play one on TV. However, with a kid this young an early commitment doesn't mean a whole lot. Especially in basketball, other coaches will continue to recruit him hard and a lot of things can change between freshman and senior year of HS. Look no further than the kid that commited to Illinois but switched to Indiana. With that said, this is great news. Keep em coming Thad!

i understand your points, 14, but this commitment (if there is or will be one) would mean much more than no commitment. i'm sure that matta would understand that he must continue with the full court press on thomas. fortunately, with '08 already decided (except pryor, perhaps), with '09 being a small class if any, and with '10 already started; he has plenty of time to give thomas a lot of attention.
as far as gordon/iu/ui, that was more about the coaching change at iu than anything else.

Wow... lotsa accusations about "O$U" cheating over there on the Indiana board (no surprise though... with the exception of Gordon, we've owned that state in the Matta era). Glad to see there are still some really classy posters over there to shut up the ignorant ones.
Being that I BELIEVE this is a quiet period until early July, I was not expecting any verbals ANYWHERE for a while. I'm pretty shocked that an extremely highly rated out-of-stater is getting his recruitment done with this quickly during that supposed quiet period. IF the rumor is true, I absolutely love this pick up, though. Too many comparisons to LeBron to keep the smiles off my face. Koufos will most certainly be gone by then, but there's a chance Mullens may still be around.

Sampson must really loathe Matta right now.

There certainly is some smoke at this point.......obviously getting the #1 player in any class is huge for a program but taking into account the players who have already verbaled to the program and I think it is safe to say that Thad Matta may be the hottest coach in the college ranks right now.
