I agree that JD could be a nice addition over the long run, maybe shorter if he grows a bit, or really works his tail off to turn his weaknesses into strengths. If it happens, having all year to improve, and knowing what he should improve on would be of great benefit to him. I thought Wallace could have turned into a very nice player, but he was not patient enough to find out, being far from home added to that I'm sure. If Thad does decide to go after JD, then I also agree it will be nice to see a hometown kid get a chance to play at tOSU.

I alluded to this possiblity in Wright's thread............

Quick note.......I know they asked for his transcripts.........maybe he will get an offer...........
I like Weatherspoon.........very athletic........question for me is his perimeter shooting.......... |

His transcripts are probably the only thing holding back the "official" offer. I am a little concerned about his perimeter shooting also but he has some time to work on it and I don't think he has to stray too far from the basket to be an effective player. His rebounding and defense will be his assets.

Obviously.......when evaluating a player..........strengths and weaknesses are determined and a staff makes a decision on the potential of that player in their system...........he has physical gifts that can't be taught.........his shooting and fundamentals can be improved if the player accepts the coaching.............
I don't think anyone who has seen him play thinks that an offer from Ohio State is out of the question............... |

BN$--'Spoon Provides Scoop On Ohio State
JD says he is working hard to improve his test score and only time will tell if he gets an offer from tOSU. However, he is very interested. |

Ohio State's problem is that they haven't recruited guys like J.D. Who cares if he can't shoot right now....he's going to give you the athletic ability down low that Ohio State has been missing.

on the other hand........I agree his athletic ability is something we don't have enough of on the roster.............. |

I'd like to see an offer go out assuming he's qualified.
This is a player that can give us time at the four spot during his first few years, then as he develops his perimeter game can move to more of a three position. You also can't teach his athleticism and speed. |

I hear you on the 4-1 system, just not a fan and would like to see some things change. |

I thought I read that MD, PUR and WIS have all offered, but that one article quotes Satch as saying none had. I'd think he was in good shape academically if X already had offered.
