Now that Daequan Cook has verballed, I think that it's obvious that Conley should play with his AAU teammate in college.
Odd, but if Conley had pulled the trigger first for Wake Forest, I think I'd feel differently about that. |

I am going on record right now and saying Conley will be a Buckeye, but don't expect an announcement before the summer is up. I have always believed that we were 50/50 for Conley and the fact that Wake is in on quite a few other talents closer to Wake and the fact that Cook picked OSU, I think in the end, its just a matter of the best situation for him. (ie location, playing time, coach and how comfortable he is)

Conley says he was suprised Cook committed to OSU. He says that Wake is still the leader but that Cook's committment gives him another perspective. The possiblity still exists that they could play together in college. Conley has narrowed his list Wake Forest, Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Arkansas. He wants to make a decision sometime this summer. |

hey 44820 do you still feel the same way after reading that article.
I kind of got a bad vibe from that article, by the way he said that he was suprised cook didnt let him know, he thought they were a package deal. I know it was done by a wake site and could of been slanted, but what do you think. |

I sincerely like our chances, but in recruiting we all know the deal. Nothing is certain. |

I think we are definitely in the hunt for Conley and there are a few other factors working for us. Prosser's name is floating around for several other jobs, including Tennessee and Pitt. Why would he want to leave Wake? Rumor has it that he is not fond of how tough the regular season is in the ACC. Also, The fact that Wake has offers out there to 4-5 point guards who are all ranked in the top 20 in the country bodes well for us. I don't care if it's Augustin, Trevon Hughes, Tywon Lawson, or Jeremiah Rivers. As long as one of them commits to Wake before Conley, that could be huge. I think Lawson and Augustin are both leaning towards Wake as well. Lastly, Conley's father is going to play a large part in his decision, and he loves Matta. That bodes well for us as well. I am going to have to agree with 44820. I think in the end, Conley ends up in the S&G.

In my opinion, after reading this article, if there is anything that may sway Mike, Jr. to OSU, it is Thad Matta, not Daequan Cook. I still like our chances a lot. |
