Mayes sounds like the real deal. We are going to have two very good PGs next year. It will be interesting to see if Butler or Mayes is going to start next year. It really doesnt matter though, one is going to provide solid depth off the bench. What I am wondering is, what are we going to do with Ron Lewis? He left BGSU to play for a big time school and to be a PG. I don't see him getting much PT there, he's going to have to be happy with playing SG IMO.

Mayes mentioned in article on Fort Smith. Apparently he was the unanimous MVP of the league.

I got some info on Mayes tonite. I was talking to a kid that plays juco in missouri and I asked him if he played against him and he said he had.
I asked him what he thought of him and he said he is a deadly shooter, he is quick as hell. Then I asked him if he is better than Jamar and he said it was probably a toss up. He said Mayes can shoot it better than what Jamar can(keep in mind he knows how well Jamar can shoot and he is not basing it on this years performance when Jamar had some confidence issues.) He said that He is probably quicker than Jamar tho. He also said that he was the leader of the team. |
