Mangold is going to be our biggest lost next to hawk IMO. I dont think we'll see a drop off at middle linebacker and carpenter will be replaced. Our DBs will reload but Mangold will be a tough one to replace. Hopefully somebody is proving themselves in the scrimmages in tempe or will step up in the spring.

I have always been a big fan of Nick's and I think he will have a very successful career, b/c he has shown that he has great quickness and has the stregth to block the big fast guys.

I think he would prosper in a system like Denver or ATL.

I look for him to be the second center off the board behind Eslinger, and he will probably be a third round pick.

Aside from his obvious physical talent, NM's biggest asset is his thinker. His command of the game (inside his head), will be hard to replace.

Oklahoma DL Dusty Dvoracek struggled Tuesday. Ohio State center Nick Mangold got the best of Dvoracek in the one-on-one rush drills. Mangold had another great day. He has proved that he is not a finesse player. Mangold is strong and technically sound. He looks like he could move into the first round but will probably go in the second round.

Ferguson stood out as clearly the most agile offensive lineman the North roster today. However, Ohio State OC Nick Mangold turned in the most impressive overall performance. Mangold has adequate size and feet to go along with his outstanding technique and explosive power. He is polished and should be ready to start as a rookie in the NFL.

It's nice to see Nick getting positive reviews in the Senior Bowl preparations. It's going to be nice to have SOMEBODY to root for in the game. I think I agree that he will be second only to Hawk in terms of difficulty to replace in '06, although Santonio is close in that regard. I also hope he ends up on a team that appears on TV here in the Southwest with some frequency. While I still root for Browns and Bengals, they rarely appear on TV here.

Senior Bowl Practice Buzz (Wednesday -- provided by Scout, Inc)

• Finally, after two days in full pads, the Senior Bowl saw its first fight of the 2006 practice week. Ohio State OC Nick Mangold took exception to Oklahoma ILB Clint Ingram knocking his helmet off during team drills. Mangold began violently swinging at Ingram, who dodged the initial barrage and began to swing back. After a few seconds of Mangold and Ingram unsuccessfully attempting to land haymakers on one another, Iowa OLB Chad Greenway stepped in and played peacekeeper.

For the offense the session was punctuated by a fight between Nick Mangold and LB Clint Ingram. I'm not talking about slapping and pushing but rather full swings, blows to the head and blood. Eventually Chad Greenway broke it up, furthering his reputation as a team leader.

One says "unsuccessfully attempting to land haymakers", and the other says "full swings, blows to the head and blood".

I saw a part of yesterday's practice. Mangold and Gabe Watson were going at it pretty good during a 1-v-1 pass rush/protect drill.
