One play that really sticks out at me was in the first half(I beleive it was 10-10 at the time). We had a second and 4, Beanie was running all over them. We called a pass play and Boekman got hit and fumbled. We recovered, now it was 3 and 14.
Before that play I just knew we would pound it with Beanie...alas it was not meant to be. |

Imagine what this guy will do when he gets those bone chips out of his foot and can actually run pain free!

I have a feeling that when it's all said and done, Beanie Wells will go down in history as one of the best backs ever to play college football.

Those stats are single season Muck. I'm guessing he might need a year and a half to pass Eddie, unless he really has a Heisman type year 1800-2000 yards. I'll have to look up career numbers but the ones on that chart are single season records.
![]() After checking it looks like Beanie would be 2nd All-time behind Arch with about 1700 next season. Definitely reachable, however Archie is not unless Beanie pulls 2000 next year and returned as a senior. |

And?

Currently Beanie has 2,106. He needs fewer yards in 08 than he rushed for last season to pass Eddie. He needs to average just over 1,700 over two years to pass Archie. Last edited by Muck; 01-13-2008 at 10:41 AM. |

OSU has only 2 backs who have ever rushed for over a mile in a single season. Barring injury, Beanie is an absolute lock to make it 3 next year.
While Tressel is not usually one to overuse a back, I don't see how he could possibly limit his carries enough to keep him from surpassing the mile-mark. In fact, with the line we have coming back (hopefully including Boone); Beanie stands a better than even chance of becoming the first Buckeye to rush for 2000+. |

It doesn't take too many of those to get him there.Being fully healthy next season, he could have one of those years that gets him mentioned in the same breath with some legendary names. He's going to start the season as one of the Heisman favorites, and is already #1 on Heisman Pundit's site. Of course, at this time last year, Tim Tebow wasn't even in the top 20 of that same list... |

He has the will and ability to be great. Great, not in the over-used sense of the word, but as in "one of the great ones".

Thinking about some of Beanie's stiff arms and breakaway runs, and that in only his sophomore year, absolutely sick (in the good way
) I was going to tOSU during Keith Byers junior campaign (when he got hail-maried out of the Heisman |
