I don't see Beanie putting up huge numbers. He was correct in his interview that we have too many other kids to tote the rock. Only difference in depth versus last year is to add Herrron. Herron is more of a power back and would be in a better position to take carries directly from Beanie than Mo or Saine were.
Why let the kid beat himself up? I would rather have a fresh and healthy Beanie at around 1300 yards come the first of January than a bruised up Beanie with another 1600. |

Beanie got off to a slow start last year as well with 47 yards against YSU (and 17 yards against Kent State). If he put up his usual numbers in those scrub games, he would have been flirting with 1900 last year...and he wasn't 100%. He could get a lot of rest and still put up 1600-2000 yards. |

That averages out to about 21 carries per game. I would hardly call that over working him or beating him up. Twenty-one carries seems just about right for a premier back with other weapons on the team. Get his ypc up and he could be pushing 1800 yards pretty easily without increasing his workload at all. Considering Beanie was bruised up the entire year last year and had a few "off" games, something that had nothing to do with his workload, I don't see how him flirting with 2000 yards automatically means he will be beat up and bruised at the end of the year. |

Kent State. He was basically held out of the game due to injury. Four carries, 17 yards, 1 TD.
