If he feels 100% ready to go against Ohio, they should play him. The kid is a legitimate Heisman contender and it would be a disservice to him, if healthy, not to play him.

I'd make sure he's 150% before playing him against Ohio. I think Beanie is more worried about a National Championship than a Heisman and I'm sure he would understand the coaches reasoning.

Beanie isn't the type of player that needs to get reps in preparation for a big game.

Not that the Heisman should come into it, but running for 200 against OU would be meaningless if he didn't have a great game against USC to go with it, having a great game against USC vaults him to the top of the Heisman list no matter if he plays against OU

Agree, if Wells is not good to go, don't play him, but I don't see a reason not to play him unless they think he will hurt himself or isn't ready to go. Sure you don't give him the ball 27 times, but I don't think a quarter, or even a half of play isn't that bad if he can play.

And I think someone needs to smack Jim Rome because he's going way overboard with questioning Tressel with playing Wells in the 3rd quarter. He acts like Wells is out for the year. Is he even listening to Tressel's updates?

I'm so glad to get a positive update on this. I have been glued to the computer the last 2 days trying to get updates on Beanie.

Definitely glad to hear he should be ready for USC. As far as playing against OU, thats a tough one. He wouldn't mind some yardage for his heisman chance, and obviously extra gametime with the team before the game, but the USC game is definitely where he needs to be 100%.

"ligament damage" sounds nasty but they say to expect Beanie to play against USC, so I guess it can't be as bad as it sounds. I hope he looks like his old self when he does play.

Well, he said the coaches asked him not to divulge too much info, so he only told me what he could, but from what I picked up from our convo is that, the only way for it to fully heal, is to stay off of it. But, the way I know Chris, you'd have to kill him to keep him off the field. So it has the potential to get worse, but not hinder his mobility and speed.

P.S. He said it was ok for me to post this info. He reads this site, lol.
