12/13 Mark talks about his visit to Cal. His main focus right now is academics. He plans on visiting Oregon on 1/13. No other schools were mentioned.

12/13 Good update from Duane Long... Same as above, Mark enjoyed his visit to Cal and will visit Oregon 1/13. Mark says Coach Fickell was at Dorsey this past week. Mark is working to set up a visit with tOSU for sometime in January. He says his academics are looking "good" right now.

I think it is a very good sign that they sent fickell out to see him. I think that the reason Tress didnt visit him, his b/c they want him to set up a visit and bring him and see how things go and then he will go out there.
I am really keeping my fingers crossed on this one as this would be a mighty huge get out of Cali.

Good for him, I hope he can bring the school year home strong.
This is always the kinda kid and story I root for. Busted his ass to achieve his goal and I hope he gets what he wants at tOSU or another school. As a father of a 15 year old, that level of maturity is commendable.

12/19 Mark will "definitely" be visiting tOSU on 1/7. He goes to Oregon on 1/13. He has already visited Cal and LSU, and if he takes a fifth visit, it would be to either Washington or Arizona St. I love our chances with this guy, especially since he has a definite visit set now.

12/19 LSU is making Johnson a top priority. Looks like interest is definitely picking up in Johnson (2 updates in one day). I think that this speaks well for his perceived academic situation...

he's obviously a priority for us too...and has always maintained OSU and LSU as his two favorites above most others.

His solid visit to Ohio State tells me that the staff thinks they can get him in. It will be interesting to see which way this situation goes. If they can get him in, then I think he will be a Buckeye.
