You oughtn't mess with Oden
Ohio State and UCLA first to advance to the Final Four
01:14 AM CDT on Sunday, March 25, 2007
SAN ANTONIO ? Joey Dorsey, a player only college basketball aficionados would know, made a name for himself the other day.
He became the first person in recorded history to call out Greg Oden, the 7-0 center who will probably be the first player selected in this summer's NBA draft.
You can't make this stuff up.
Dorsey called Oden overrated. Basically called him a bum on the court. Said he was Goliath, and Oden was the little man. Clearly, Dorsey skipped Sunday school the day they discussed who won the battle between David and Goliath.
Final line: Oden scored 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting, nine rebounds and a block in 24 foul-plagued minutes; Dorsey had four fouls, three rebounds and failed to score.
Final score: Ohio State 92, Memphis 76.
"I was just trying to get myself fired up before a big game," Dorsey said. "Greg knew what I was doing."
So you still think he's overrated?
"I didn't know he had offense like that," Dorsey said. "He's a lot bigger than I thought, and he did a good job of moving me in the paint when he posted up."
