Greg Oden, the most coveted high school basketball recruit in the country, took an unofficial visit to Indiana University on Thursday evening to meet with Hoosiers coach Mike Davis.
"I'm just going down for the night," Oden said as he and his coach at Lawrence North High School, Jack Keefer, made the drive to Bloomington. "I've still got my options open. I'm just coming down here, seeing what another college is like."
A high school player is allowed five official visits, and Oden has taken two, to Wake Forest and Ohio State.
"I think this might be the last one," he said.
The other schools on his final four list are IU and Michigan State.
The 7-foot junior center could extend this visit to the weekend and make it an official visit, or he could take another one later.
Oden is familiar with the IU campus. He's attended Midnight Madness and some practices and games at Assembly Hall.
He said he hasn't had any extensive conversations with Davis.
"We talk when I see him. I haven't talked to him on the phone," Oden said. "I know him just like any other coach, but he's a good guy."
College coaches are prohibited by NCAA rules from commenting about players they are recruiting.

Rumor is confirmed.......I think he felt he needed to at least give IU a look, I hear that people in that state are giving him a hard time because of not looking at IU seriously.
