Back to Gamble. When Kiper was running through his mock draft during the game, he projected Gamble being picked #8 by the Browns, and even then he said Gamble was still raw and needed some work. I think he's doing some preemptive damage control, in that if Gamble doesn't get picked as early as he says, he can always point to Gamble's rawness and that he himself pointed that out. The CB that played himself right out of the first round was Derrick Strait from Oklahoma...he got abused like a 14-year-old boy's right hand. Ricardo Colclough from Tusculum played very well, as did Columbus-boy Keiwan Ratliff of Florida...I think those two may go in the first round.

Not to be purposefully argumentative, and god knows I love Jenk, but I really hope by "top 10", you mean at his position, and not overall. I get the feeling that's not the case, though, since grabbing the 10th best wide out at the end of the first round - even in this draft - wouldn't exactly be a steal. Michael's a fantastic player, but putting him even in the top twenty players overall is a little silly. I forget the exact numbers, but I think it's something like three receivers total in the last 20-30 years or so that have had 1,000+ yards in their rookie season. Just like in a fantasy football draft, WRs are plentiful, and unless truly exceptional (read: Fitzgerald), shouldn't be taken until later in the first round, if not second, etc.

well, I guess I meant, in 3-4 years, Jenkins will be one of the top 10 receivers in the league, maybe top 5, and the best receiver to come out of this draft. He'll be better than Sherry and Boston.

Jenkins will be a great pro. I don't understand why he's so underrated. Is it because he's quiet and humble, and flips the ball to the ref after scoring ridiculously clutch TD's instead of doing heisman poses?

ATL got a steal, I agree. I however don't think that he will be the best pro in this class.

I really think Roy Williams will be from UT. Detroit now has two #1 recievers, and Joey Harrington, who I think has been underrated thus far as a pro. As long as they can run the ball and stay healthy they will be able to score some points.

I have been laughed at plenty for saying this but I personally think that Fitzgerald is the most overrated player in this draft. Why? Because I do not think he will be successful going across the middle in the NFL and he does not get you many yards after the catch. All of his great catches were along the side lines, and I can't remember him making any moves to get by someone. There is a reason he didn't play special teams.

Reggie Williams has all of the physical tools but I think lacks the heart/concentration. He got roughed up at Ohio State and he quit.

So I think it is possible that you are correct, but we will have to see what happens

I am also a big fan of Raushan Woods from OK State.

Don't forget that Fitzgerald only has two years of college ball under his belt. There are some legitimate questions about him, but if he answers them correctly he will be something very special.

Jenkins will be solid NFL receiver, but he does not have the potential to become what Fitzgerald MIGHT become.

According to Michael Irvin, who is a college national champ, a three-time Super Bowl champ, and a future NFL Hall of Famer, Michael Jenkins was the "best coached" and "most polished" receiver in this year's draft. Jenkins is big, has great body positioning, exceptional hands, runs nice routes, and has surprising speed; also, he played four years in college. IMO, the only receiver in the draft who has similar all-around skills is Roy Williams. Larry Fitzgerald is smooth, but slowish, and played against some questionable competition (witness how Miami shut him down for 3+ quarters); also Fitz will be playing in NFL Hell in Arizona. In Atlanta, Jenkins could be an instant star.

Even if Fitzgerald hits his full potential, I'm not so sure he'd be that much better than Jenkins, if at all. Fitzgerald had as much hype last year as any WR in recent memory, and a lot of that was just that...hype.

all i will say is that jenkins leaves tOSU having made more great/clutch catches than the rest of tOSU receivers of the last decade COMBINED....

and those receivers have a pretty good track record in the nfl....

i would take Jenkins over ANY other WR in this draft...

i am dead serious... no one is as clutch as MJ... he's so silky smooth with his little push-offs to get separation. he runs excellent routs. he is faster than you think, and even though he will not burn you deep HE GETS OPEN. even when everyone KNOWS he's getting the ball, he still gets that little window for himself... he catches in traffic...

did anyone mention how clutch he was at tOSU...?

BTW, i bet someone on BN that MJ would go in the first, but i can't remember who... darn.

Damn, maybe Jenkins will be a bust. Irvin is one of the most ignorant, obnoxious hosts I've seen in a while...and that's even when he's not on crack.. Hearing him rip the Bengals for starting Palmer next year made me finally realize that it was a good move.
