The citation was over a month ago...he likely paid his ticket, got chewed out, will have a tighter leash in Columbus, and all is well.

I have never done pot during college, but I know several people who have. That didn't make me want to stop being friends with them. I still maintain contact with most of them and all of them, as far as I know, are leading what I can only term as a normal life. Some have married, one even has a kid and most of them have girlfriends or boyfriends and are leading a productive life (I am 27). The media has to understand that athletes are regular people as well, and needs to stop portraying them as a parody of virtue.

While I am not trying to condone such behavior, it doesn't mean that he is a bad person or that he made a stupid choice. (Now if he is caught selling drugs, that's something different altogether) I just don't understand why there is so much conservatism in the society. For some it might be a lifestyle choice, and the government does not have any right to impose morality on anybody.

I agree with this. Tressel has probably sent him a revised workout schedule...something that may involve a lot of stadium steps.

I just hope Clifford doesn't make it a habit like some of our former players.

Gene has to realize that he is not a "normal" person. He is a member of tOSU and tOSU football team. as such he has responsibilities to the University, JT, we the fans, His fellow team members and his family. I'm sure he has already had the classes about how to conduct himself as a Buckeye many times. The image he should project is the one JT wants him to.
tOSU can impose the regulations on him and he is expected to adhere to them.
I hope he has learned his lesson and moves onward and upward from it.
I anticipate seeing him on the field a whole bunch!

I am looking at the bright side. I would imagine that at one time or another a large amount of kids have seen, touched , held, and used marijuana.
I expect that Gene and the players around him learned from this.

All he wanted to do was hang with his friends, get high and stay in trouble". I pray that is not the way you wish to be remembered.

As someone that has gone through charges like this, it's not that big of a day legally. I was underage, but my overage friends had to pay a fine, pay court costs, and attend one anti-drug session. I had to do even less. This probably will be wiped from his record.

With that said, I hope he takes from his experiences what I did. I disappointed tons of people when I was busted, I imagine it was even worse for Eugene.

Umm he is free to choose whatever path he wants to take. It his life and it is his to throw away if he so wishes.
