Best part is however vanilla our gameplan is, Ginn returning TDs will always be a threat. Heck, multiple times last year he blazed thru excellent kick coverage with little blocking.

I think you will see more teams sacrificing punt yardage in favor of kicking it high and trying to force Teddy to make fair catches. scUM was doing a fairly decent job at this, until Finley tried to boot it over his head. Big mistake......

Possibly the best analogy I've ever heard. |

Gosh I loved that one. To keep the theme going:
"Ginn to the middle, great speed! Look out! They won't touch him... one man to beat... touchdown Ohio State. The electrifying #7." (Wisc PR td) "He is so dangerous... daylight... look out... they can't catch him, nobody catches him unless you're a world class sprinter" (PSU PR td) "Ginn rockets Michigan State's world." (WR td) |

I agree with hawkfan... Michigan's punts all had hangtimes around 4.5 seconds and they had guys near ginn. But Wisconsin, Mich St., Penn St. all had hangtimes in the 3's. I think teams are going to go for more hangtime to let their coverage guys get close to ginn so they have a better chance of not letting him break it.

Honestly I think having the dual threats back there was one of the biggest during points for us in the season. Field position was huge for an offense that was struggling. Much and rightfully so the attention goes to Ginn, but Holmes can do some special things as well.

I believe that Santonio Holmes is under-appreciated by Buckeye fans (The Ginn Factor).
I believe that Santonio Holmes is the best receiver in the country. I believe that Santonio Holmes is one of the top 5 WRs at OSU in the past 50 years. After reviewing the 2004 season yesterday on tape, I can't believe that I didn't remember how consistently great he looked last year. His route running and body control were incredible. His ability to catch deep balls in tight quarters is stunning, not revealing the ball's position until the last second, and thus, not allowing the DB time to make a play on the ball. His speed after the catch is much better than his advertised speed out of high school, and I don't recall him ever being caught from behind when in stride. On top of all that, he's a great kid. I believe that if we have a QB that can deliver, Santonio will have 70-75 catches at year's end, will be a 1st team All-American, and will be remembered with greats like Carter, Galloway, Glenn, Jenkins, Boston and Baschnagel. Personally, I'd take him over all of them except Cris Carter. Years from now, I think people will be amazed that the 2005 Buckeyes had Holmes, Ginn, and Dukes on the same team. Get them the ball. Let's appreciate him while we have him! Go Bucks! Go Santonio! |

That's what is great about all the attention Ginn is getting. I know coaches are less likely to overlook a player, but I don't think it's wise to commit to stopping Ginn when the alternative is to have Holmes punk you.
I agree with your post. Holmes is the most talented "forgotten man" I can remember. |

And, with Ginn getting so much attention, he might just have some unusually good opportunities this year
