Check out this thread I did and look at where he is all time at OSU. Quite interesting. The man is severly underrated, especially since the emergence of Ginn.
http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/s...antonio+holmes Essentially, he can pass Galloway and Glenn in yds, recpetions and TD's this year which would put him behind only Boston and Carter as the 3rd most productive WR in OSU history. |

One thing that is good tho, is that the media has done a good job not forgetting about Holmes. Plus, if you kick away from Ginn, you are settling for kicking to holmes, which is still a dangerous thing.
I agree he's gonna tear it up, and destroy any team (like Texas if they listen to their online fans' ideas) that doesn't put their best DB on him. Then they might still do so. |

Santonio is, flat-out, a [censored]ing baller.
Somebody needs to make a highlight video out of all his great catches. He just has absolutely no regard for his own body when he goes out there to play. Those 2 TDs he had in the '03 michigan game, where he made diving catches while somehow staying in bounds, right before crashing into that brick wall, were incredible. not to mention the RIDICULOUS diving TD catch he had against purdue last year. Despite his small size, he is probably one of the toughest, if not THE toughest, WR we've ever had. This team doesn't have the great D-line of '02, but, talent-wise, this has got to be the most talented team of the cooper/tressel era. |

While I don't think he gets the national attention he'd get, and deserves, if Ted Ginn wasn't a Buckeye I'm pretty sure Ohio State fans know what kind of player he is. However I don't think he'll mind the single coverage he sees this fall on his way to becoming a 1st round NFL selection either. Marlin Jackson knows how good Santonio Holmes is. So do NFL scouts.

Santonio is a fantastic receiver. He runs crisp routes, and makes big plays. I think that he and Teddy will have friendly compeition this season to prove who's more dangerous, and with that all OSU fans benefit.....and all opponents suffer........ |

I love Santonio Holmes. I agree and I will say Holmes is the best RECEIVER on this team. Now, dont get me wrong. Teddy Ballgame is Teddy Ballgame, but Santonio Holmes has amazing route running abilities, very athletic, fast and just an all around amazing receiver. The Ginn Factor will DEFINETLY help us when defenses will worry about Ted Junior, they will have to watch Santonio own in one on one coverage. I think this group of receivers has been the best in a while. Holmes Ginn Gonzo Dukes Lyons Hall-WOW
GO SANTONIO GO BUCKS |

holmes is a great guy, he couldve left for the pros the last two years but he comes back because he loves the ohio state university. i believe he even has a couple kids but he still is in school. he will have a great year benefiting from the presence of ted ginn. hes a great route runner, just ask marlin jackson.

Mr. Holmes is one of those special players who show up every 10 to 15 years.
An accurate QB will make him an AA and first-rounder. |

Santonio is a great WR, and a good bet to be a 1st rounder. That said, i don't think he is at the level of Glenn or Boston yet-he has not had a transcendant season like they did in 95 and 98 repsectively....hopefully he will this year...

As promised, here are both of Holmes' TD catches up in Ann Arbor during The 100th Game:
8-yd TD catch, 2nd quarter 13-yd TD catch, 3rd quarter Also his two TDs at Indiana in 2003: 15-yd TD at end of first half 47-yd TD from Scott McMullen in 4th quarter |

i dont think holmes is overlooked. i think he deserves more attention but he is definitely not overlooked. only some loud fans like the ones from texas dont realize him which is fine by me
the analyst and scouts and opposing coaches know he is our biggest threat and ginn is our big playmaker. it reminds me of 02. gamble recieved a lot of media attention because of his large playmaking ability like ginn but jenkins was always our go to guy and was always there like holmes. both are great. wish holmes was a bit taller but his solid amount of speed, quick footwork, and fundamentals just dominate everybody. |

I believe that if it wasn't for Holmes, we never even would have made to overtime against Northfreakingwestern.
I believe that if it wasn't for Holmes' drop, we would have beaten Northfreakingwestern. Yes, I'm still [censored]ed about that game. |
