While Ginn is obviously the media darling this year, I really do not think that Holmes has been overlooked. He's on a lot of watch lists, and I believe was at least a pre-season All American (honorable mention). This topic leads me to two conclusions, one good, one bad.
The bad: That Teddy Ballgame won't live up to the hype. I hope he does, but the way it's looking now, he'll have to part the Red Sea to do so. And don't take this the wrong way...I think Ginn is one hell of a player, and will be unbelievable...but man is the kid being hyped... The good: Tony Gonzales. Yup. Now this guy truly IS being overlooked. I can honestly see Tony getting more receiving TD's than either Ginn or Holmes, just because everybody is going to be so worried about the two of them. I think Holmes will likely lead the team in receptions and yards...but Gonzales will likely be able to get free deep more often. |

Which leads directly to "The Good".... the good isn't going to be just Tony Gonzalez... its going to be everyone else... We'v e got two receivers you have to pay special attention to... a QB you have to pay extra attention to... lest he run all over the place... so Tony Gonzalez? Yeah... Insert RB of your choice here? Yeah... FUllback/HBAck/TE? Yeah. Back to Santonio... he's a heck of a player... to bring back some less than great memories, he's blossoming into the player I always hoped Ken yon Rambo would become... he also knows he's got room to improve... from his own mouth, he needs to work on Route running and blocking... but so could Ted... but he's a heck of a receiver, no question... I put him right up there with guys like Galloway and Glenn. |

Santonio will always be one of my favorite Buckeyes! The guy just bleeds S&G! And please, don't EVER mention Rambo and Holmes in the same paragraph! Rambo couldn't carry his jock! Rambo was a huge disappointment!

Seriously...Rambo was certainly a huge pile of wasted talent...I'm always surprised when I see him on top whatevernumber lists that people post...he had some special talent, its a shame he never really got it together

the best thing about santonio is how he isn't being selfish and demanding attention because of all the obvious buzz that surrounds teddy ginn -- he just goes out and does his job exceptionally well and is a model leader for the buckeyes

There will be similar post to this about Gonzalez next year. I think he has an oppurtunity, with his speed, to have a very good year this year. All the attention will be on Ginn and Holmes leaving him with the third (or fourth) DB.

Then consider how good Dukes has looked all throughout the offseason. It's hard not to look good as a WR out here, b/c double coverage is simply not an option for the opposition.
