Last speculation I heard was everyone's returning but Gholston.

Just a personal opinion but my advice would be to enter the draft based on his draft projection.....it is a no brainer.....

I would not be surprised either way. |

It was a great play but I think I liked the fake field goal a little better(not sure which game). It was awesome. |

I would say that there is no wrong answer for (not so) Little Animal at this point.
For many of us we are probably in no financial position to turn down millions of dollars and "gamble" that we would be in the same position or better after our Senior season. (draft position / other entrants, injuries, etc.) But I will make the assumption that because of his Dad's career success James is not under the same financial pressures as most of the other potential Draft entrants...not that making the "smartest" possible choice financially isn't a factor (i.e. I don't think Gonzo's family was in monetary need) , but I think it affords James the opportunity to weigh several other factors a bit more heavily in the process because of his personal situation (being the son of a WWF Superstar). I myself would have to "take the money" and leave school early. James may be looking at things more like Matt Leinert (who, it could be argued, probably lost money entering the draft a year later). But what is the "value" of another year in school, with your friends, for your Senior season, as a Captain at the greatest University / Football Program in the world, with a great chance at another Big Ten Title, possible shot at that elusive National Championship, going down in the OSU record books along with some of the "Greatest LBs of all time"? I'm sure he's well aware of the money situation and I wouldn't blame him one ounce for jumping early, but I won't fault him for coming back one more year either. ![]() Good luck to him with an extremely difficult decision. ![]() |

He should do what makes him happy. Draft position doesn't matter from a financial perspective because his family is very well off. Even if his draft stock drops he'll still go in the first round most likely next year. There's no reason for him to jump now even if his "draft projection" is at it's peak because he's in the unique position where he can afford to enjoy another year of college. Just do what makes you happy James, that's the only question that you need to ask yourself. I know I'll be happy for him whatever he decides.

I would say to call timeout when you see a bunch of 4 guys wide right with two on the line of scrimmage for the first time all game. |

Just to be clear,
I was not trying to imply that making a decision that maximizes your own financial value (no matter if you are a multi billionaire) isn't a completely viable choice... Only that there are other viable reasons to consider staying and that perhaps JL's family has put him in a position to afford to weigh those opptions more heavily. I didn't mean for the thread to aim toward "how much money does the Animal Family have" or "Can they afford to skip the draft another year". Sorry if my post started it down that road. Tough decision, and I wish him luck in making it. ![]() (come back to school James...we all know your family can afford it. j/k) |

I hope he stays!! Unless some freakish season, he'll still be a 1st rounder next year for sure. He has something that can't be taught, and thats what you need to be in the NFL!! Come back this year and #1 or #2 overall next year
Either way, he's going to be a great LB in the NFL one day And I will enjoy him saying THE Ohio State on Sunday night football one day(night) ![]() |
