I thought James played with more intensity/fight tonight than in the previous couple of games. Anyone else think so?

Not really.

Well being a two-time AA, Nagurski, and Butkus award winner has something to do with it too.

I saw this as well. Especially in the first half.

he won those awards due to his consistent effort with a few spectacular plays sprinkled in. Basically, we have seen James do it all. Anything he does know kinda gives you the been there done that mentality. Basically, with 6 years of Hawk/Laurinitis we have been spoiled. All the sudden, 18 tackles in a title game isn't good enough (not my opinion but could be the reason some think he is underperforming).

I can't believe he was only credited with 10 tackles yesterday. The announcer called his name 2/3 of the time on the first half and then a number of times the 2nd.

I just wanted to go ahead and bump this thread because I think that it deserves mentioning that JL had one of his best games (IMHO) in his storied career at OSU. I have been a bit critical of the defensive play (with the exception of Jenkins) this season. James L. stepped up against Sparty and was dominant from start to finish. He filled holes like a beast, and he flew around the field and had a lot of fun. When the defense has fun, the defense shuts everyone down. James L. had fun in this one, and it worked it's way on down through this defense. He is the leader of this squad, they need to see him animated as we head down the path towards another Big Ten title.
