LB John Kerr (official thread)
Can anyone help me either understand or disregard the recent spate of rumors about Kerr leaving the program, which have shown up on other boards? I cannot comprehend his leaving the opportunity he has.

I have not heard he's leaving.... I can't imagine why he would transfer in, talk about how he essentially went to IU only to prove himself at the B10 level, and then transfer out... Only thing I could imagine is schollie concerns.... since he was at IU he can't have a schollie at OSU.

Can you post a link? I've seen nothing yet.
I would highly doubt he'd transfer. If he wants to stay in D-IA, he'd have to sit out yet another year, meaning he'd have sat out for two years straight.

FWIW- the talk floating around the premium message boards is that Kerr might be dropping in the depth chart (behind Freeman and D'Andrea) or no better than our 6th LB.
He might have a higher expectation of himself and might want to go somewhere to play more often.
None of this (as far as I can tell) has been substantiated. It is mostly coming from posters relaying things they have heard.

No better than 6th in that group is still pretty damn good.

I, um, sorta paraphrased this so it wasn't a direct copy from the board....If anyone is offended please PM either Mili or DiHard and make sure you open the message with "Listen up Dickhead,"
News from Columbus and Tressel... After just talking with my dad after dinner, he was out with some of Tressel's friends that are close to the program last night and I got some new scoop. 1. When talking about the LB depth, the one guy said "you wont have to worry about Kerr!" He gave no reason, but said Kerr will NOT be on the team this year. He said Freeman is moving up the charts and D'Andrea WILL PLAY ALOT! 2. He said Hiley and Louis are enrolled elsewhere, wasnt sure about Reggie Smith and (as is it came a shock to me) Ira Guilford looks like he will be back on the team in the fall. Ira, during all this was getting notes, tests and passing all his classes the last quarter, unlike LI. Tressel also thinks the lawsuit will be dropped and Ira wasn't the one doing the "beating up" anyways.. 3. Summer conditioning news: Tressel is VERY happy with the play of his WR's, esp Tony G. I guess ToGo was clocked at a 4.23 and during drills, half of the team thought he would beat Ginn in a race easy (race never happened). ToGo was also repeatedly beating Ginn and other CB's. I heard Ginn has a long way to go at playing CB next year. 4. Marcel Frost is indeed at TE. Tressel said he loves his size and speed and wants to use it. 5. At the Big Ten meetings in Chicago next week, it looks like Tressel and staff will be bringing Fox and Ross with them. He is a lil worried about who will step up and be a leader in the locker room the way Will Smith and Jenkins were last year with such a young team this season. 6. "Zwick must come out on fire the first 2 games, or the job will be Troy Smith's " He's pretty much handing the job to Justin and he needs to step up and take it. Keep an eye on this situation. 7. Oline- Still looking for a RT and the Datish-Mangold swith could still happen. Hope this filled an appetite for some and will try to bring you more as i hear it.. Go Bucks..
