Obviously his NFL career is winding down in a couple years. So my question is, do you think he will find his way onto the sidelines as a OSU RB coach? He could probably recruit some great talent, what do you think?

me and my friends were thinking this a couple of months ago. We were thinking that he would be great Coach on any level and could really help us in recruiting and in helping football players along in their game. One can only dream though.

That would be one of the best hires JT could make. I'm sure it would be hard to fire his brother, and it is also a question of if Eddie really wants the job.

I cant possibly imagine firing his brother for an "upgrade" but to add eddie in under a different title or something of that sort would seem an amazing opportunity. But as I'm pretty sure he doesn't need the money would he even want to do it? It might be nice to be able to retire at his age and still not even have a single worry about cash. But then again he always was a very hard worker, I don't know that he would be content to be retired.. doesn't really seem like much of a fisherman

Conspiracy theory: JT moved DT in to keep the spot warm without having to hire a "big name" coach knowing that Eddie would be ready at about the same time DT's closing things out.

FWIW, you don't really see star players going into football coaching, unlike in basketball. Sure, some coaches, like Cowher, might have played in the NFL, but the only "star" players I can think of that became coaches are Forrest Gregg and Mean Joe Greene. Plus, back when they played the $$ were not even close to what guys make now. Also, Eddie's new wife is a singer in an R and B group from LA, I don't know if she would want to make a permanent relocation Columbus, Ohio.
Does anyone know any other former Buckeyes-mid 80's onward- besides Kumerow (grad assistant at OSU) and a DB from Pennsylvania-Patillo?-who I believe is now the DB coach at Miami or LSU, who are coaching in college or the pros? |

Mike Singletary is also coaching in the NFL. I believe he's the LBs coach for the Baltimore Cravens.
