TyW is pretty stingy with his offers. Didn't they wait forever to offer Brohm last year too? He usually wants EVERY prospect he offers to come to camp first.
edit: BuckeyeJeff, I found this quote as well from a couple days ago: Quote:
Personally, I'd rather see ND get Schoenhoft so that we can possibly get Forcier. I like his running ability and I think he's a bit more of a pure QB than just a rocket-arm. Last edited by CleveBucks; 07-02-2004 at 03:27 PM. |

I have no direct quote here clevebuck, but I did read on this site somewhere that Sanchez has now been offered by ND and they have moved 'towards the top' of his leaders. Nothing confirmed certainly and I hope its Evan, Jason and Rob as you mentioned. I see ND as a major player for every QB we're after. Ultimately, the prize here seems to be Sanchez, but Schoenhoft is sounding more and more like a stud instead of an alternative. What are your thoughts?

Rivals on Schoenhoft (7/3/04) Rob hopes to decide by the end of this month.... |

It is so hard for me to decide between the two, me being an amateur at best, at this stuff. On one hand you have a proven quarterback, who is a great kid from a great school with a great coach and a great system. On the other hand you have another great kid in another great system with another great coach. However, this kid is a bit of an unproven commodity, though his ceiling for potential could be potentially unlimited. Do you take the safer bet (Sanchez), or do you risk taking a crap shoot on the one who could give you the most down the road? The safest bet I know would be to just get them both, but what are the odds? Does or should the fact that Schoenhoft is from Ohio make a difference? Does the fact that he is from Cincinnati, a place we definitely need to open our recruiting up in, make a difference?

Clearly Sanchez since he's more proven IMO. |

The fact that schoenhoft COULDN'T OR WOULDN'T help his receivers look better than their talent makes me suspicious of his leadership abilities. The arm seems to have no question marks, but his game time knowledge and judgement are definitely in question. IMO I don't see sanchez as the "safe" pick, he's the most technically sound qb and isn't reliant on just winging it in there.

If you believe this then exactly why isn't he the safe bet in your mind? Not flaming, just want you to go further with your explanation. |

Perhaps he's implying that Sanchez is the BEST pick. Calling him the 'safe' pick seems less flattering, like you're settling for Sanchez.

Gotcha.

Stull and Forcier are more polished options than Schoenhoft. I still think I would put Schoenhoft as my number 2 though.

I'm not sure how he could of made his receivers look better other than running down the field and catching his own passes. St. X's receivers last year were young, not very good, and not up to GCL standards. In fact Schoenhoft was moved to tight end for his blocking in the run game.

According to Bucknuts, Rob Schoenhoft has made his college decision, and will announce it at the Elite 11 Camp:
Bucknuts on MarkSanchez (7/13/04) At the camp, Rob will be rooming with Mark Sanchez. |

He's a scUMmer. Mark it down. Another Cinci product lost.
No big deal if we get Sanchez. ![]() |

Schoenhoft says it's down to Ohio State and scUM. He will talk with both coaching staffs before making a final decision. |
