I too am sickened by the fact that none of these pussy's feel any loyalty to their country. Say what you want about him, but none other than Allen Iverson has been one of the few ( I believe Jefferson is the other) that have been "Olympians" from day one. Iverson is brash, tattooed to the hilt, and not exactly what I'd like in a role-model, but the guy plays hard every night, plays hurt, and obviously has a desire to represent his Country.

I remember a few years back when David Duval was actually good enough to qualify for the Ryder Cup. His first question upon being invited was if they got "paid" for playing. WOW!

Again, for as big an asshole as he was on the court, John McEnroe was the most loyal and dedicated Davis Cup Tennis player that this country has ever had. John took the Davis Cup as serious as any major tournament that he played in. I heard stories about him pretty much begging Sampras to play. Sad that ever had to happen.

These guys just don't get "it." Some of my greatest memories of sports figures are from what they did representing the United States of America. Bruce Jenner, 1980 Hockey, Louganis nailing the "perfect" dive, Mary Lou and her final "10", Kerri Strug, Carl Lewis, Dan Jannsen, Justin Leonard, the list is just too long to continue. The most dominating Sports figure in my mind right now in the World is Lance Armstrong. How much does he get paid?

The USA probably needs to go back to using College players in basketball. At least it would open up tryouts for guys who want to play, not back-outs from guys who don't that would only be rivaled by somebody trying to get out of jury duty in terms of [censored]-poor excuses. Peace.

I always thought Redd made a mistake leaving early for the NBA. I really thought he was a casualty of bad advice about where he would be drafted. I also thought an extra year would have helped him in terms of draft stature.

In retrospect though it seems to have worked well for him and actually may have given him the chance to fly under the radar of what is expected of a high draft choice.

Bucks guard Michael Redd has delivered a lot of clutch shots for Milwaukee fans the past two seasons. Now the 25-year-old free-agent-to-be wants to deliver another message to Bucks fans: he wants to stay in Brew Town. "I've always said I enjoy my team in Milwaukee. I really don't want to go anywhere else," he said Thursday night after his team's 85-77 loss in Chicago. "But we'll deal with it at the end of the season. Milwaukee fans have treated me tremendously. The organization has treated me top-notch. We'll see what happens. I really can't answer that question now. If I dwell on that too much I think it would affect my play and I don't want it to affect my play."

Redd can opt out of his four-year, $12-million contract after the season and become a free agent. He is expected to command a much bigger deal on the open market. The Nuggets, Sonics, Mavs and Cavs are among the clubs said to be interested. The Bucks still hold Redd's Bird rights, however, meaning they should be able to offer him more money and/or an extra year (assuming the collective bargaining agreement doesn't change).

While some have speculated Milwaukee might want to move Redd this season rather than risk losing him for nothing, don't count on it. The Bucks have more good reasons to wait and see what happens, especially when the next CBA could impose shorter contract lengths. "We're optimistic Michael will be back with us," Milwaukee GM Larry Harris said.

Comparing that lying, low life scum Boozer to Redd is terrible.

I have no problem with guys taking the money.But when you have an agreement, league legal, or not, you should stick to it. Especially when the team is doing something that they don't have to do.
