Utah Blaze: Germaine is AFL Player of the Week
The Salt Lake Tribune
Article Last Updated: 05/06/2008
Utah Blaze quarterback Joe Germaine is the Arena Football League Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Germaine, the former Ohio State star, completed 24 of 30 passes for eight touchdowns and ran for another score in Utah's 67-50 win over the Kansas City Brigade on Saturday, Utah's first win of the season.
"Joe has been a true leader on and off the field," Blaze coach Danny White said. "He has been everything that we expected him to be and is truly deserving of this recognition."
Germaine has completed 68.9 percent of his passes this season for a league-leading 3,148 yards and 64 touchdowns.

How he doesn't get a legit look with an NFL team, yet Kyle Boller and [censored]s like Chad "0-4" Henne are possible STARTERS is a complete mystery to me.
Not only was Joe a damn fine QB, he was tough as nails. Even though he looks...young...I'll never be more proud of a Buckeye in a loss as I was of Joe against FSU.
Congrats Joe.

I know. It just doesn't make sense that Tommy Maddox started in the NFL and Joe Germaine is in the AFL.
I also submit John "I lost to BKB's desk in a race" Navarre.

meh. He's better off in the AFL, IMO. He didn't have the arm strength to make it in the NFL and, with the exception of Maddox, all of the guys that you mentioned do. Coaches and GMs are still convinced that they can teach a guy to not be stupid, but they can't teach him arm strength.

Utah Blaze: Germaine increases his crew
By Jay Drew
The Salt Lake Tribune
Article Last Updated: 05/13/2008
Posted: 2:01 PM- Utah Blaze quarterback Joe Germaine missed practice on Tuesday, but it is nothing to be alarmed about as the club prepares to take its two-game winning streak into San Jose on Saturday for a showdown with the division-leading SaberCats.
Germaine's wife, Natalie, gave birth to the couple's second son in an Arizona hospital on Sunday. Blaze coach Danny White said the boy will be named Crew. The Germaines also have a 3-year-old boy named Jackson.

True [censored]ing that. We got our asses handed to us, but Joe had some serious heart. Joe will always be a favorite of mine for his play and spirit. I loved this Buckeye.
