No offense to Antonio whatsoever, but...I doubt it very much.

Why do you doubt that?
I would just like to know your reasoning?
We had a kid on the team this year(Anthony Durr) that has a 4.0
He won one of our football awards...The Antonio Smith Academic Excellence Award.
Antonio Smith was the first winner of the award when it was created in 2001 because of him and his classroom performance.

not every kid that gets a 4.0 gets a full academic ride in college. In this case, I would imagine he's referring to the fact that Beechcroft's academics aren't the greatest. It's not a slam on the kid at all, he probably is a great role model... he's merely doubting that it is a guarantee as you suggest.

We are the second highest academic school in the city. Behind only Centennial.

Exactly. No guarantee, that's for sure. I got above a 4.0, great test scores (not that I'm patting my own back or anything ), and I only got a smaller scholarship from Miami. Granted, Miami is not a state-sponsored school so the scholarship money is privately donated/etc, but still...a 4.0 alone will not get you a full ride. Best I got was full tuition from OU, and that probably wasn't just based on the GPA.

Just so you know. I never said that a 4.0 assures you a full ride. I just said I "think" that would get him a full ride. With (?) at the end.

That's why we told you what we think. I'm not calling you out bro, I just want to know the story here. If he didn't have a full scholarship and has now earned one, that's great news and quite an honor.

I found a little info from OSU's site.

Career Notes:
Hard-hitting defender who is in his fourth year with the Buckeyes after walking on in 2002 ... was redshirted that year, but has seen increased playing time each of the past two seasons and that number should continue to go up this year ... listed as a strong safety on the roster, but has made a name for himself with his kamikaze style of play on special teams ... played in all 12 games last year and earned his first letter ... has a terrific work ethic and is a student of the game ... a three-time OSU scholar- | | |
