Bentley?s career in jeopardy
By MIKE McLAIN Tribune Chronicle
BEREA ? When LeCharles Bentley signed a six-year, $36 million contract with the Browns last March, he couldn?t wait to remove his sports coat and reveal a Browns jersey when he was introduced at a press conference.
It appears that might have been the highlight of Bentley?s career with the team. Barring some unexpected good news on the patella tendon injury he suffered in training camp last July, the Cleveland St. Ignatius and Ohio State center will miss the 2007 season.
Worse yet is the severity of the torn tendon and the impact of a second surgery to remove a staph infection might end Bentley?s career, according to general manager Phil Savage. Speaking at a news conference Tuesday, Savage said Bentley is undergoing rehabilitation in Arizona. A decision on a third surgery will probably be made in May.

Very sad news. Let's hope it's not the end.

Bentley surgery?
Browns General Manager Phil Savage said LeCharles Bentley is scheduled for another surgery June 4 on his patella tendon that would keep him out this season. "There's a chance he may opt not to do it," Savage told the Canton Repository at a luncheon Wednesday in Uniontown, Ohio. "By June 5, we'll know about '07, and '08 will still be out there as a question mark."

Sad to say, but I have simply lost all hope in seeing LeCharles suit up at center for the Browns again. If he does, it will be a blessing from the sky. Tough tough break for a classic Buck. Although, luckily for him, he signed that nice fancy contract right before perhaps ending his career with an injury. Better than getting the injury right before FA began.
