OL Ryan Cook (official thread)

Whatever happened to Ryan Cook, OL from Martinsville Indiana? Huge prospect but no playing time ever logged on the Ohio State official website (although the ncaa website gives him credit for playing at Northwestern and Illinois in 2002. How/why did his career end?

Ryan Cook stopped playing football due to I believe a hip injury that was getting worse.

Thanks for the response. The hip injury was actually Adam Olds. They were recruited the same year and both redshirted. Can find any info on Ryan Cook though.

I remember reading O-Zone practice reports that hinted at Cook not being good enough to see the field at Ohio State. He was definitely buried in the depth chart. I can't recall whether he stuck it out in Columbus or whether he transferred, but I'm pretty sure he didn't end up playing football by the end of college. Kind of like DB Mike Roberts on the roster now...some guys just don't develop enough, and I recall that impression from Cook.
