i hate to change the subject, but i really can't stand the little "extra" stuff they put on the corner of the SI covers these days. They looked so much better in the past, when one thing (and one thing alone) graced the cover. that would be a great cover, if not for the annoying little blurb of phil mickelson on the side. kind of like how the little pennington and vick blurbs tarnish the krenzel championship cover.
![]() now that's what I'm talking about. if that happened today, there would be a picture of michelle kwan or something splashed across the side. |

that is some great stuff right there.
i would much rather have had the post-fiesta cover been a spontaneous shot of the players celebrating, with no words at all on the cover. kind of like these ones: ![]() this cover is nauseating, but here goes... ![]() |

Related to the pictures above
My wife drug me to the "garage sale" for the catholic school that she teaches at. It also the church we attend. We were there early, aelping to set up, and a little old lady from the church that I've know for years called me over to her table and said that she knew I was a big buckeye fan because I always spoke to her husband after Sunday Church about football. It was actually more like this little old man seen me in a buckeye shirt once so he would hunt me down after church and corner me to talk for about 10 minutes every Sunday. As the times went on I actually looked forward to our discussions. I figured his children moved away and he needed another guy to talk to as his wife would ramble on about nothing for hours , as little old ladies are known to do. Anyway back to my point, so she hands me a old brown paper bag and inside is a copy of every sports illustrated with the Buckeyes football team on the cover. I mean a copy of every one from way back to Krenzel, He passed away shortly after the 2002 NC game but had been saving them for a really long time. Every of them in very good condition. She said she was going to sell them at the gargae sale but when she saw me she thought that her husband would rather I have them than some stranger. I choked up right there. What a wonderful gesture. Who would of thought just taking 10 minnutes out of a Sunday morning to chat to someone could have meant so much. As I stated I enjoyed our chats as much as he did. After he passed away I slightly missed our Sunday chats, Now-a-days I miss them alot more. |

Vrabel scores again
Vrabs made yet another TD catch yesterday. He's quickly becoming the Patriots most reliable receiver as well as best linebacker.
