Alright, this is just getting absurd.
Tressel needs to take steps (which I'm sure he's doing and is capable of realizing without our help) to bring this program under a little more control. That being said, Clarett was handled about as well as could be handled without breaking the rules, and he still caused trouble. Dukes - the kid committed a crime before he got to school. Are you going to hold a college, boot camp supervisor, or any other institution liable for something that happened BEFORE they got there? That might be the most idiotic of comments we're seeing. Reynolds was not a tressel recruit. That being said, he apologized immediately afterwards and Sorgi accepted it (which he didn't have to do). I believe Reynolds was reprimanded for it. Tressel cannot keep players from snapping, he can only handle it afterwards. You can preach all day about acting the right way, but everyone capable of snapping to some degree or another in the heat of the moment. And as far as Smith goes, again, this is not something that Tressel can control. He can penalize Smith, and may never put him in the starting QB spot again. NONE of you know the details surrounding this, and so none of you should try and pass judgment on him. This penalty that is being laid on Smith might prove to be the closest thing to kicking him off the team for good, since he may always be the #2 or #3 guy thru graduation. So yes there are things that need to be done. I would say there is more that Geiger needs to do as an AD than Tressel can do. But this isn't Tressel's doing, this could happen anywhere. So please do not lump this crap about Dukes with the other far too long list of incidents at OSU recently. It is just an absurd argument. |

mili, if norma mcgill is telling the truth, yes absolutely she should be. i just question her not only on her mental status at the time, but her past mental status. the dispatch did an article on her and how she had been in 3 mental hospitals prior to the moc thing. imo she shold not have been in the classroom.
look at moc too. remember jim brown and his andy geiger is a slave driver/jt bashing comments. look at what he has said recently, "they run a good clean ship" he "respects" geiger, though he doesnt necesarlly agree with him and his praise for jt. i am not taking sides on the tressel thing time will tend and i will make a rational decision. and pagac and carter said they knew "stuff like that happenes" when confronted they both never named names and even backpeddaled on those comments. Question asked of Carter: can you get a tutor at OSU to do your homework? Answer given: yeah, but so can any kid at OSU, you don't have to be a football player. Misquoted intentionally in ESPN writeup: Carter described atmosphere where players could get homework done for them by players. He wasn't one of the ridiculous sources that are easy to write off. But you missed the whole point. Carter said he was answering whether or not a student could get a paper written for him, and ESPN used that to twist his words and make it sound as if it were a perk of being a football player. Yet they did it well enough to avoid being guilty of libel. |

The NCAA investigated everything McGill said and did not find a thing...nada, zilch. Yet, you choose to believe that these allegations are true. Your mind is made up, the University is a hellhole of cheating SOBs and JT is the head honcho... Get a grip and stay out of the paintchips |

Norma McGill made her accusations after being expelled from OSU for pyschological reasons, in an unethical fashion considering her relationship to students at the time the alleged misconduct occurred, and before assaulting another at her church(!) in northern Kentucky. She is not credible, period.
After all of this, ESPN highlighted her on its website's frontpage as one of four "Women of Courage" who risked themselves personally to do some noble good for society. ESPN is therefore not credible. Others have responded to the credibility of Carter's and Pagac's comments, and not surprisingly, the bull[censored] of it all evolves back to ESPN. If Dukes is guilty of what he's being charged with, he will pay dearly. That's a big IF, and it would then also be the correct person to punish. |

Did Tressel or anyone on staff even know that the original charges were filed? And even if they did, what ever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"?

To me this isn't that big of a deal...if he gets found guilty, then he'll be gone...if he isn't, then he obviously isn't guilty and won't be...how does this have anything to do with Tressell, Geiger, Clarett, Norma Gill or anyone else? I seriously hope this place is on melt down, like the other boards, I'm getting tired of people being sick and sad about what the school is going through....cause quite frankly, if this stuff comes true, there will be consequences, and there will still be an athletic department....I know I'm a buckeye for life, and I hope everyone else is.....I think even if Dukes was found guilty, I'd make a "Free Albert Dukes" T- Shirt and wear it proudly!
