Troy Smith is reported to have borrowed 3 dollars from his friend in 5th grade, but has yet to pay him back. This may raise some red flags with NFL GM's, and is something to pay attention to as it could mean some serious character issues for him in the NFL.

There isn't a better time to be rising on draft boards -- or worse time to be falling -- than in the final days leading up to the draft.
NFL teams have spent the past year in an exhaustive search for new talent. Most clubs finalized their boards this past weekend, but the rankings aren't locked until draft day. Private workouts and interviews, as well as late-breaking medical or character news, can send a player's stock soaring or tumbling in these final few days.
Questions surrounding Michigan defensive tackle Alan Branch's health, for example, could send the run-stuffer into the mid or even late first round when he has long been considered a likely top 10 selection.
The focus in the final Risers & Fallers is on many of the biggest names in this year's draft class:

COLUMBUS ? Ohio State quarterbacks coach Joe Daniels doesn't want to tell NFL scouts how to do their jobs, but he's miffed that Troy Smith is being picked apart like Donald Trump ripping into Rosie O'Donnell.
Smith's stock took a nose-dive after his national championship game horror show. But Daniels, who groomed Dan Marino for the pros at the University of Pittsburgh and spent seven years in the league as an assistant with three teams, believes the NFL will be making a mistake if it judges the Heisman Trophy winner on one outing.

Troy Smith has garnered his share of accolades playing football at Glenville High School and the Ohio State University.
But on Wednesday it was Smith who paid tribute to Cleveland and its outstanding student athletes at the Cleveland Municipal School District's annual recognition dinner in the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University.
"Where can I start?" the Heisman Trophy winner asked the 400 students, coaches, teachers and school officials in attendance.

No. He'll go late which is expected. Teams randomly always pick up QBs late even if they don't "need" one.

Whoever gets Troy Smith will be getting a steal. Troy has something to prove now in the NFL (that his Heisman was justified), and I doubt he's going to sit on his ass to make that point.

It's too bad. He does, "Trading Places" with Chris Leak and he's looking like Mr. Real Free Agent. With the exception of Teddy, it looks like all the seniors got slammed following the BCS. SEC players seem to have been the big winners.

I find it hard to believe that one game can slam a guy from a late first or second round pick all the way to a free fall into the 5th round.

They act like he never won any big games. Texas? scUM (x3)? Notre Dame?

All this teams passing on Troy are going to regret it. I love how Dallas picks Isaiah Stanbeck? I mean, please.

Man, I'm almost getting happy that Troy is going this late. I'm so excited for him. He's going to step onto some very, very lucky NFL team and show everyone what's up. It almost makes me giddy. All those 31 teams that ended up passing him up will look very, very foolish in a little bit of time.. He's the kind of guy that can lead his team to the Super Bowl. He did it in college, he can do it in the NFL.
I just hope he goes to a good team that will use him well, hopefully under a good quarterback that can teach him well (since I do believe he needs a few years to learn the NFL, as do almost all quarterbacks).
