He'll never get a chance just like Scotty McMullen never got the chance to win us a few big games, right? Zwick could go down at any moment in any game and suddenly Smith would be starting for a top10 team in the country.
besides, he's on a team and from everything i've read, he's happy where he's at. yes, he wants to start, but he realizes how nice he has it... Quote:
of course, if he does want to transfer... he's more than welcome to come play at Malone. ![]() |

troy smith could start at any big10 team not named purdue, scUM, or tOSU...

If he went to another 1A school he would have to sit out next year and only get 1 year to play. Between that, 1AA, and backing up at OSU I'd choose OSU. If he does leave I would expect it would be to 1AA because there is no use having to sit out another year. If he was going to go 1A it would have been smart to get out before this season started so that he could play next year.

It isn't worth it to transfer to IAA and it isn't worth it to sit out a year and play one year at a IA school. I think he will stick around and hope for a chance to play.

If he has the stuff to play at the next level, or realistically thinks he does based on the opinion of the "right" people (read - not MoC's advisors), he should take off to the best possible "playing" situation, take a year to really understand the system there and go balls out the following season. Plenty of qbs have gotten solid looks in the pros based on one year starting. Not many get the shot with no starting experience, even if they rode the bench for tOSU.

I would ask to be moved to RB in the Spring because there is obviously a need there...

I thought we would not go into threads like this when most of us decided to join into "BuckeyePlanet". Over in bucknuts we were constantly fed up to here in threads of the nature like "Krenzel vs McMullen" - Germaine vs Jackson,Bellisri vs Krenzel and on and on. But here we go again with [censored] like this. Okay I agree its just conversation and all that stuff but come on, where in the hell does this get us. I,ll bet if Zwick was to be injured in a game then you would be happy as hell to see Troy Smith come in and get his chance to show what he can do.
Somebody has to start and someone has to sit. And the choice right now is Justin Zwick. It is only the 4th game of the season and here we are debating weather Troy should transfer because he is not getting a chance to play. I remember when alot of you were all [censored]ed because Irazarry was not getting a chance to play in 2003 and when he got in there he dropped a couple of passes and he was pulled from the line-up and sat down. The same damn thing could happen to Troy Smith but WE do not not that. For goodness sake people, please don't be so judgemental at such a early stage of these 2 very fine football players. leave them alone. Just let them play football and let coach Tressel decide thier fate. |
