Troy Smith for Big-10 player of the year! It's between him and Michael Robinson and even though Smith is the better quarterback Robinson will most likely win the award. Troy Smith had 14 TD passes, 11 TD runs and ran for 545 yards. He threw for nearly 2,000 yards and only had 4 interceptions. He also completed more than 60% of his passes and led a come from behind win at Michigan. Not a bad season. Give him some buckeyes.

I cant wait to see how much he progresses in the off-season while taking snaps with the 1st team all by himself for the first year. He was probably the best QB in the Big-10 this year, thanks to his efficiency and mobility. While our defense might take some games to jell next year, our offense will actually be very dangerous.

Troy Smith for Heisman in 2006.. with the possiblitly of young and bush gone, this isnt really that unrealistic of a chance either. our offense will be down right scary next year with the talent we have returning!

Troy Smith Named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Quote:
Ohio State junior quarterback Troy Smith earned Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading the Buckeyes to 25-21 comeback victory over Michigan to garner a share of the school's 30th conference championship.
Smith directed the Buckeyes' offense on a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown drives to rally Ohio State to victory. The Cleveland, Ohio (Glenville H.S.), product connected on 73 percent of his passes on the day, completing 27-of-37 throws for a career-best 300 yards and a touchdown while adding 48 yards on 11 carries and another score.
After the Wolverines took a 21-12 lead with less than eight minutes remaining in the game, Smith drove the Buckeyes 67 yards on five plays in just over a minute, connecting on a 26-yard scoring strike to Santonio Holmes with 6:40 on the clock to cut the lead to 21-19. The OSU defense then forced a Michigan punt to give the ball back to the Buckeyes' offense at the 12-yard line with just over four minutes left. Smith led the visitors on a 12-play, 88-yard scoring drive, completing seven-of-eight passes for 77 of those yards before Antonio Pittman scored on a three-yard run to give Ohio State the lead with only 24 seconds remaining. It is the first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week laurel for Smith.

ESPN.com put Troy Smith on the Heisman watch list. A.J. Hawk is also on there. Here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/heisman/

Congrats Troy! This will be a great starting position for the '06 TS Heisman campaign
He shares it with 5 other juniors. Can anyone fill in the blanks here?
Vince Young - Indicated that he will be back next year. Probably 90% to return.
Troy Smith - I haven't heard any talk of TS leaving early. The senior year will be the money year for him. Probably 95% to return.
Brady Quinn - ?
Reggie Bush - ?
Maurice Drew - ?
