when the game was on the line smith had urine running down his leg....
guess what.....WOW...troy smith drove the team to another pure garbage td.....
anyone arguing for smith after this game needs to go follow another sport.....unless you really get your rocks off by seeing some pathetic piece of shit do one thing right against second stringers as the clock expires...
THE SOONER TROY SMITH TRANSFERS....THE BETTER THE CHANCES FOR OHIO STATE....AND HE CAN TAKE SANTONIO WITH HIM...
anyone notice that the only time the buckeyes moved the ball all day was when troy's best friend was on the bench and gonzales(sp), hall, hamby and lyons were in the receiving mix???
tell me you watch enough to notice that.....

Similar to the experience Homer had in the 'Angry Dad' episode

Actually Smith did show something. He was pretty good at hitting the short passes. A lot better than Zwick has been. We can't run and don't really have time to throw deep. We need to spread the defense out a bit with the short passing game. Also, if were going to have to have the QB run because of lack of protection I would rather it be Smith.
In regards to the comment about rolling out of the pocket...
The thing I see when I watch our offense is that defenses attack the run and the pass the same way. They don't care what kind of play we call. Their defensive line stunts up field and is able to blow up our running and passing plays with equal aplomb. This is where the scheme comes in. We have to be able to punish the opposing defenses when they play that way. Traditionallly misdirection, screens, draws, reverses and rolling out of the pocket can help against these things. IMO, it is not coincidence that Tressel rarely calls these plays.

DiHard,
dude i know you are pissed but go jump off a cliff. This is a bigger problem than Troy, Santonio, or Zwick. Its a system problem.
And you look stupid by cussing out someone who will never see this post.

The passes he looked good on were against a cover 4...in other words, the defense was giving those up and keeping everything in front.
I agree about the rollout, etc....without the running game, there has to be some type of moving pocket/slip screen/bubble routes. <<cough FSU cough>>
Misdirection is tough though...penetration kills misdirection all day. As we all see, the OL is getting penetrated like a stockbroker in prison

the only short passes i saw him throw were the first one too far in front incomplete and the second too far behind which resulted in a loss.

Imagine this..
Smith actually throws a spiral!
and, he looks for other receivers.
He started out in the worst possible situations, so you people making these "he sucks" claims should give him a chance to play when his team isn't already down by 17 points bc of a lackluster sorry ass QB that was in front of him.
edit for name calling
