He should be their started next year. Troy is a winner period. I think he can get it done in the pros.

I got to watch a lot of Troy today (in between the ass-thumping the 'Skins put on Dallas) and he looked very good.
He should definitely be their starter next year.

Im Very Proud of Troy. He played a hell of a game. He already is a leader in that lockerroom, everyone loves him, Derrik Mason is always complimenting him in interviews and whatnot(just got done saying Troy was basically the main reason they won today and that he has the pois was an 11 year starter)
This is the First time where Baltimore was actually fun to watch on Offense. Troy was the spark and he had everyone smiling after like every play. Listening to Troy in press conferences is great as well because he is so well spoken and he really demonstrates what a leader is and he compliments everyone to the fullest. I don't know how you couldn't want to follow a guy like him.
Good game Troy

Troy Smith's statistics on the year:
40-76, 452 yards, 2 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, sacked 4 times, 12 rushes for 54 yards and a touchdown. 79.5 QB rating.
His touchdown percentage is 2.6%. Boller's is 3.3%. Boller has an interception percentage of 3.6%. Troy's is 0.0%.
When you compare his stats to those of other rookie QBs:
Brady Quinn was 3 for 8 for 45 yards, 0 TDs, 0 Ints, 0 sacks, 56.8 QB rating in his limited action debut. By contrast, Troy was 3-5 for 33 yards and ran one time for 6 yards and a score in his limited action debut.
Trent Edwards: 151-269, 1,630 yards, 7 TDs, 8 Ints, 12 sacks, 70.4 QB rating.
John Beck: 60-107, 559 yards, 1 touchdown, 3 Ints, 10 sacks, 62.0 QB rating.
JaMarcus Russell: 33-66, 373 yards, 2 TDs, 4 Ints, 6 sacks, 55.9 QB rating.
Anyway, the one thing you will notice from the 3 other rookie QBs that got extensive playing time is that they made mistakes and threw interceptions. Troy Smith did not throw an interception. Troy was also able to avoid the rush and many sacks.
The team says good things about him. They seem to give him their vote of confidence. Troy Smith has to start next year. It is only fair.

All in all, Troy did quite well for himself when given the chance, but the 0 INT's is a little misleading. He had a couple potential interceptions dropped. While I'm not big enough a homer to say that he played well enough to be the leading candidate to be a starter next year, I'd say he did enough to hopefully earn a shot. Two big things he may have going for him is that his teammates definately seem to respond to him and he showed the ability to make plays when the pocket brakes down. Much of it will depend on which direction the ratbirds go with their 1st rounder. If they go QB, he'll be facing a major roadblock. I'd be amazed if they bring Boller back, thats for sure...but I'm sure billick will have a big say in that, so who knows.

Troy played great today. For a rookie starting in his 2nd NFL game, you gotta love how Troy showed that he can make many different throws already, and can make a play and get the first down.
His leadership and confidence has to be the best things going for him, though. The Ravens play with a lot more direction and enthusiasm with him under center.

I can't see anyone drafting a QB high in this upcoming draft. Matt Ryan is supposed to be one of the best prospects and he was throwing off his back foot and generally looking horrible against Michigan State in their bowl game. I don't see Brohm or Woodson being a better immediate impact compared to Troy.
