well yeah he helped us lose a game and he definatly was closer to taking a step back than forward. He did do some things that kept us in the game so thats why I'm just go'n to say he stayed still and didn't do either. We'll definatly know next week though!

the one thing i like about smith this week (because this week is all that matters in the world....future...past...mean [censored] right now) is that stanton absolutely gave the scum defense fits....

hopefully the offensive coaches are smart enough to look at that film and see this...

Good line Grad! haha but I never said he did well in the Purdue game so I never really back peddled much! jus simply worded it alittle different! Troy Smith should give Michigan troubles indeed if the coaches are smart hu?

Pump you brakes people

I knew that it was bound to happen, two mistakes and here come the critics. I will take a rocket spiral over a wounded duck any day.

We can talk about "if" all night long, but who is to say that IF we scored on any of the red zone turnover possesions that Orton would not have drove the length of the field and score like he did.

I would say this thread is extremely tame and even constructive besides the nitpicking on BukIPower's posts...but that more of an inside joke than criticizing TS.

To answer your question with a question, who is to say if tOSU scores on those 2 redzone opportunities that Purdue doesn't fold like up and quit? They were beat down from previous weeks and when doubt starts to creep it is contagious?

Who is to say what would have happened? However, the fact remains that turnovers in the redzone are 100% unacceptable...no matter who the QB is

osugrad,
Would you agree that there were bright spots (edited just for OG21 hehe) on at least 5 good, medium to long, drives (2 that ended bad though), which was a step in the right direction. This whole season I have been stressed because it was hard for OSU's O-line to be consistent and for them to get long well fought drives going. Troy is coming along slow but when he learns to check off better, we will all rest a little easier.
Next year when they gets some more depth and talent on the O-line and RB positions, OSU will do fine. I just hope some of that talent shows through this Saturday. It is possible. OSU has nothing to lose!!!

p.s. I do agree 100% on those turnovers not being acceptable EVER !! Not that I disagreed on any of your points though.
p.s. That dry spell in the 2nd and 3rd quarter was also unacceptable for the Offense as a whole but hey they are just kids and very VERY young. no excuses though.

Where do I begin....
1) That's what happens when you have two near-equal QB's. If one isn't doing well, people call for the other. The same thing happened when Zwick made a few mistakes.
2) I will take a downfield pass over 1 yard passes any day.
3) Uh, genius if we would have scored on both of those red zone turnovers, we would have won the game. If we would have scored on the one you talk about, and then Orton drove the length of the field, we still would have had a chance in OT instead of losing the game straight up.
