Thursday, November 30, 2006 Trinity's next superstar Trinity has only had three players sign Division I scholarships in seven years under coach Bob Beatty but you can mark down another in a few years. Sophomore linebacker Jordan Whiting showed in the 4-A state final against Ryle that he's a budding superstar for the Rocks. The 6-foot-, 210-pound linebacker has been all over the field. He's a well-built, speedy linebacker who has a nose for the ball. Oh, and he's a hitter. posted by Jody Demling at 9:13 PM 1 Comments: Jody Demling said... An update: Whiting led Trinity with seven tackles. He had several big hits on Ryle running back Vince Murray. 7/24/07 Quote:

Here are the stats for Jordan Whiting:
Height: 6-foot-0 Weight: 220 lbs Forty: 4.71 secs Vertical: 27 inches Bench reps: 30 @ 150 lbs I am currently working on Southern Cal recruits for RecruitingPlanet.com, and the Trojans already have a verbal commitment from a 2009 OLB prospect by the name of Marquis Simmons. Simmons's stats are listed below: Height: 6-foot-1 Weight: 215 lbs Forty: 4.69 secs Shuttle: 4.56 secs Vertical: 30 inches Bench reps: 17 @ 150 lbs So you can see, the height, weight, speed, and vertical numbers are almost identical, and Whiting has the clear edge in strength. Of course, both have are reputed to be excellent football players for kids who have just finished their sophomore years in high school. The point is, if Simmons has enough athleticism for USC, then Whiting certainly has enough athleticism for OSU. Last edited by LordJeffBuck; 07-28-2007 at 02:04 PM. |

BTW, I wasn't denying that Whiting wasn't athletic enough for OSU just that his slower 40 time stuck out, but you guys cleared that up for me. Thanks again. Last edited by LordJeffBuck; 07-28-2007 at 02:04 PM. Reason: LJB typo |

The other thing about Jordan is that he has a 3.87 GPA, and rumor does have it that he does want to be a "BUCKEYE"
