I agree with you Nixon, we do throw the ball much more than people give us credit for. What I mean by balance is that we need to make the passing game more effective. For the amount of passes we had last year we should have had much more yardage. It seemed like everything was short and the recievers did not get a chance to break anything. I know there are a few long plays last season, but overall we should be more efficient passing to help the RBs. And not to open up a whole new topic here, but it would be nice if we could pass the ball on first down, at least every once in a while. Balanced will help the play calling.

I think somebody in the past has posted a chart that when broken down has us passing (or attempted pass) 40% and running 60%... how folks can say we don't pass is beyond me...

To further what gbear said, how many times was a pass play called and Krenzel ran? Do they still consider that a pass play? If our O-line plays reasonably well this year I think we'll see an improved offense, especially after hearing what JT has said about Zwick. |

Might not be big enough to play in the Big 10? Is his coach crazy. He obviously has not seen backs like Fred Russell. His coach can get the ESPN Gameday package and see him virtually every week.

Anyhow, not to bring back some past news, but I am really beginning to dislike Fred Davis. I think that he is going to be in for a rude awakening when he steps foot on the field for USC. By the way, how can he diss OSU games? At least we fill our stadium year in and year out. He'll fit right in out there. Enough on Davis, this Wells guy sounds like the real deal. I am hoping that he sees the opening in Columbus and listens to his mama. |

There is video of Wells now on Rivals. On a field full of Florida speed he is just at another level. He does look a little small but he more than makes up for it in speed, vision and cutting ability. Wow ![]() |

BN- you are not kidding- tremendous cutting ability, vision and he just explodes in and out of the hole. Very impressive!!! |

Didn't Coach Conley say M. Wells was the best HS RB he had ever seen, or something to that effect? I remember that whatever he said was a pretty bold statement about this young man's talent, and that's enough for me to want him in the S&G. Here's hoping he brings his considerable talents to Columbus!

haven't seen his rivals film but highly curious about him. i imagine he has all the speed and the moves for sure or we wouldn't be talking about him. my question is does he show any toughness in any of the film as in taking on and breaking tackles or solid run blocking at all?
on a side note, the run blocking issue will be what distinguishes erik haw from antonio pittman. i saw haw twice last year and pittman once. pittman has lots of work to do on pass blocking, so much that he could be a liability in real game action. haw isn't a great blocker yet either but he seems willing at least. i haven't posted any pittman film yet (or haw film from that second game) but i will probably next week. the video archive is full now so i will be deleting vids here probably this coming weekend to make room for fresh material. |

At least Pittman will have spring practices to work heavily on that aspect of the game.
