really like and respect Ross as a guy, I really want him to be successful, but my interests put the team before the player, and that's why I'm suggesting we need to be easing towards a transition if someone else is willing to step up and take the wheel.

I agree 100%...I have defended Ross vehemently on these boards over the past 2 years...however, there are possibly better options available now. Pitt has looked very good and we have not even seen Haw yet. People can blame a line as much as they want, but a back who hits the hole WAO inspires a line. Hardcore backs make a line better. Look back over the past 3 games...Lydell is successful when he is wide open into the hole...if there is no hole on his successful runs, he plows ahead for a whatever he can get. Now look at his losses or stalemates...he dances or tries to bounce the run. That frustrates the hell out of the O-line.
I love the kid to death...but he is not our best option right now.

JT I don't think is afraid to start a frosh at RB but I gotta think it's something we don't know about that's keeping him from getting more carries

Ron Zook has a special ability to treat people from all walks of life equally and with respect. He is especially beloved by minorities who can recognize disingenuous phoneys a mile away. Since a large number of the best football players are minorities, Coach Zook has an advantage in recruiting.

'Satisfied' in the "to be sufficient or adequate" sense. If Lydell doesn't do anything to lose us the game, then we can more easily forgive him not doing anything to win it for us. That's what I meant.

Exactly right. 21 might have nailed it when he brought up Pittman and blocking assignments.

just breaking the freshman in slowly, besides letting ross determine his own playing time.
