both were overhyped, but I would have drafted Jackson as a 3/4 rounder as an NFL gm. Someone would have to pay me to pick up shazor as a free agent.

some close to the program seem to think youboty is 50-50.

I was just saying that if they think a player might stay then they wont evaluate him as much unless he is like Reggie Bush or a top notch qb.

I think if Youbouty does go that he would climb after the Combines and teams look for big physical corners that can tackle. I see him going late first to middle second if he comes out.

Not saying it would be a good decision, just stating my opinion.

If Ashton receives a favorable evaluation from the scouts, he goes. It seems many of the opinions in this thread are based on Minnesota, a few great catches, and a handful of penalties. It was obvious the kid was fighting himself and injuries late in the year, but that does not represent potential. The NFL draft is largely based on potential...production is big, but potential is key. Anyone ever see how sharp AY's breaks are? Notice he is a pretty darn good tackler? If anything, he was overly-aggressive this year. However, the perceived lack of success in fans' eyes does not mean jack squat to NFL scouts. The kid has the tools, the size, and the demeanor of an NFL DB. If he chooses to go, best of luck in the draft and in the NFL.

if you recall last year, the reason pacman jones was taken ahead of rolle was the notion that rolle was a physical corner and that style of play does nothing but get you flagged in the NFL. With the [censored]ant P.I. calls in the NFL anymore, being a physical corner doesnt help you all that much.

Well it helps you at the line, when you are trying to jam big recievers like a Chad Johnson or someone like that, and it should help youbouty even more when jamming smaller guys, especially since he has the quicks to stay with them.

I think Youbouty's problems since the minnny game come from him peaking in the backfield too much, and biting on double moves. That can be corrected.

They also will like the fact that he can tackle.

The big factor will be that he only has about a 1-2 inch difference between about 95% of the recievers in the NFL, unlike a lot of the guys that are 5'9''. He will be able to use is physicality when going up for jump balls.

I think AY's decision hinges on his performance in the Fiesta Bowl. He was one of the brightest spots on the team coming into the season, but now I think he is the single most vulnerable part of the team. ND will likely go to Samardzija often. If AY has trouble covering him, an NFL type receiver, he will stick out like a sore thumb before a huge audience. If he holds Samardzija, it will have the opposite effect. He obviously has the skills, but you have to wonder about his regression. While he made Cupito look good, Brady Quinn doesn't need help to look good. Here's to hoping AY surprises me.
