Well, we all know about the infamous Cris Carter event. Where he contacted an agent and wasnt allowed back for his senior season. HOWEVER, I thought that Kentuckys Raja Rondo contacted an agent, but was allowed to come back to school after paying back about $7,000 that was earned?

This is a confusing case if he has contacted an agent. And looking at how long the dang NCSS takes to rule on both individual cases and team scenerios, if he apealed anythign it would take till March of 2009 for them to even get the paperwork.

after i asked the question of the starters i read an article at theozone.net and it said that the likely starters would be mitchell and jenkins as i expected and amos and jamo to go along with them

Before the season started I recall several quotes from coaches and upper classmen mentioning Amos and Jenkins in the same breath...always saying how impressed with the both of them they were and how they were both going to be stars for the Bucks and in the Big Ten.

Let's hope Amos can have a Jenkins-like season for us next year.

apparently whitner didn't attend an autograph signing session in zainseville last night with the rest of the seniors. i dont know if it means anything, but interesting nonetheless. it was a paid session. if he was nfl bound, regardless of his pc today, i don't see why he wouldnt attend. i find no reason to build suspense for an announcement of what has been deemed the obvious. but that's just me.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Ohio State safety Donte Whitner did not attend a scheduled autograph signing last night amid conflicting reports on whether he plans to forgo his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

Whitner was one of about a dozen Buckeyes players listed on a sign in the sports memorabilia store The Sports Zone advertising last night’s signing. Such an appearance would mean Whitner was giving up his college eligibility.

According to store owner David Johnson, Whitner’s agent, Neil Cornrich, told Johnson his client was going to declare for the draft Friday and would not do any signings before declaring.

Cornrich did not return a to Texas in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 4.

White and Bush combined for 99 career touchdowns in three years, breaking the NCAA record of 97 set by Army’s Glenn Davis and Felix "Doc" Blanchard from 1943-46.

Whitner has not returned numerous phone calls over the past few days.

OSU coaches are expecting Whitner to go pro, but a source close to Whitner said the player was still unsure of his plans.

The source said Whitner has been disappointed with where he is projected to be drafted. The general feeling is Whitner would be a second-round pick at best, with the third round more likely.

Underclassmen have until Sunday to declare but can back out before Jan. 19.

The 5-foot-11, 205-pound Cleveland Glenville product last season was third on the team in tackles with 73, including nine tackles for loss and four sacks. He also had two interceptions and a forced fumble.

This one has taken a turn to say the least, as a fan and selfishly, I would love to see him come back for his senior year. but its pretty clear he is not sure at this point based on draft projections.

If he stays, that's all the encouragement the masses will need to get their hopes up for a NC season next year. Not that they aren't already up, but the parallel between him and 2002 Doss will be very obvious.

I agree completely. But I think him coming back for another year would benefit everyone. Because as fans, we would obviously love to see him come back and lead the Buckeye defense next year, and as him as a player and person, playing another year of college would help his draft stock and ultimately his career.

Since all of these juniors are declaring early this year, Whitner would certainly stand out as a top senior for next year's draft. Who is going to be a better safety in next season's draft? That's what I hope he's looking at.
