Terry was an 04 recruit... so he has another year remaining (two if he were to redshirt due to injury or something).

Ohio State linebacker Curtis Terry didn't have a bad junior year, considering he played on one foot.

He said he started feeling pain in his right foot last summer but played through it. He played in all 13 games, with three starts, and had 17 tackles.

It wasn't until this spring that the pain grew unbearable.

"It turns out I had two stress fractures, and they had caused bone spurs," Terry said.

He had surgery in late April, spent three weeks on crutches and another three in a boot. Only now is he starting to feel healthy again.

"It feels real good, it feels strong," Terry said.

Then he grinned.

"If it didn't feel good, I wouldn't tell anybody, anyway. I'm tired of missing practice."

He said he gritted his teeth through the injury last year because he felt like he would be letting the team down by not playing.

While Terry sat out spring practice, Larry Grant seized control of the starting spot on the strong side. Terry is on the second team, but he's far from upset about it.

"It has allowed me to not have to rush back," Terry said. "Like some days, if my foot is real sore, I can chill out or I don't have to be worried about rushing back, because Larry is doing a great job."

Curtis Terry re-injured the same foot on which he had two offseason surgeries, and defensive coordinator Jim Heacock yesterday said he wasn't sure when the linebacker might return.

"Right now he's not practicing, and I think he's day by day," Heacock said. "I'm not sure even what they're saying down the road, what the prognosis is."

Terry's injury originally was believed to be an ankle. Heacock said he thought Terry was coming along well from the surgeries to correct stress fractures but got "tangled up" during a practice and was reinjured.

Per the O-zone

The one player whose injury seems a bit more serious is linebacker Curtis Terry who has an injured foot. Terry's prognosis is not great and Tressel said that the OSU coaching staff may consider a redshirt for Terry if his foot does not heal quickly.
"With a guy like Curtis, who has a redshirt available, I'm not saying we're going to redshirt him, but I think you have to make good decisions if an injury goes too far into the year. That's what the medical redshirt is for, for a person not to spend a year with a fraction of a year. We'll have that discussion as time goes," Tressel said.



I had heard Terry was limping in the early part of the summer. He may need a full year to let the foot heal if it continues to be a problem.

He still has a redshirt season left, so he would be able to come back next year if he doesnt get to play this season...
