I know little about college baseball but am a Tribe fan. Can you fill us in on Lewis? |

Left handed or right habded? What role do you see him playing in the organization? With a upper 80's fast ball, I guess they'll project him to be a starter.
Considering the injury and not being able to throw in the low to mid 90's, they must think he has a ton of potential. |

He's a lefty. They wouldn't waste(or at least I hope they wouldn't) a 3rd round pick on a relief pitcher. I'm sure he'll be a starter and they hope he develops in the classic lefty starter type(Glavine/Moyer/etc). He's sorta similar to Jeremy Sowers, who the Indians picked with the #6 overall pick. He's not quite as big and I think Sowers throws a bit harder, but they're both high 80s lefties. Probably somewhat like Billy Traber and Brian Tallett who are injured this year but were in the organization.

Has Lewis regained all the velocity he had before the injury?
The Indians are stockpiling an awful lot of quality pitching. I understand good pitching beats good hitting but they need to address the offense at some point, you would think. |

From what I've heard, yes. Like I said, he was still striking guys out this year(although there's more to Ks then just heat of course). I think that's what the scouts were looking for--TJ surgery doesn't really scare anyone anymore and he's still just a year removed, so when they saw he was back close to or at where he was before, that was enough for them.
Remember that the Tribe used there 1st round picks last year on college hitters(1B Michael Aubrey from Tulane and OF Brad Snyder from Ball St). |

Where can you find this information on when players were drafted and was Christian Snavely, Big 10 player of the year this year and starting outfielder for Ohio State, taken by anyone yet?

Snavely was drafted last year (Toronto). I think you mean Steve Caravati, who was not drafted yet most likely due to injury concerns. I think a lot of MLB scouts want to see him for another year of injury-free play.
FWIW, Lewis was hitting 89-90 consistently on the gun in his start against Northwestern. There were 9-10 pro scouts clocking him that day and the general consensus was that he was pretty impressive. It looks like Lewis and Anderson will be the only two to leave. Caravati would've had he gone as high as Anderson, but I can't see him leaving now. Another draftee of note is Cory Luebke, 6-3 185 LHP from Maria Stein Marion Local HS, a Buckeye signee who was drafted in the 18th round bythe Pirates. Expect to see him at OSU this fall. He's the real deal, by the way. The Reds are still very interested in Josh Newman, who they drafted late last year. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go fairly early to Cincy tomorrow. |
