COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State defeated Akron, 7-2, Wednesday in a non-conference game at Bill Davis Stadium. The Zips are coached by former OSU assistant coach Pat Bangston, who is in his second season at Akron.
The Buckeyes improved to 27-12 on the year, while Akron fell to 19-17.

With 16 more games left before the Big10 tourney it looks like michigan is going to be in the World Series. They'd really have to fall apart the next couple of weeks not to get in. Minnesota looks to have a decent shot as well and the series coming up against them could make or break our chances. Personally, I'm not sure we can get in without winning the Big10 tourney. I'd like our chances a great deal better to win that with Dan D still throwing but you got to roll with the punches. Unfortunately, I don't think the guys have enough to win the tournament this season. That scum series was a back breaker!
