2009 Baseball Kennel Classic
The Buckeyes are coming off an impressive 3 game sweep of UConn, Notre Dame and UC in the Big 10 - Big East Challenge in the Tampa area. Next up is the University of North Florida's Kennel Club Classic in Jacksonville. The Buckeyes will be playing UNF 2 times sandwiched around a matchup with George Mason University.

University of North Florida Ospreys The Ospreys split their 4 game opener with Mississippi State to stand at 2-2 on the season. They play Michigan on Wednesday before taking on the Buckeyes at 7:00 PM Friday and Sunday.
George Mason University The Patriots were picked to win the Colonial Athletic Association Championship by Southeastern Baseball magazine. GMU takes on the Buckeyes Saturday at 3:00 PM. They are 4-0 on the season with wins over USCar-Upstate, UNC-Asheville and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville |

Damn, 4-0. Sweet. Excellent offensive production today. The pitching seemed a bit shaky though, it is very early in the year. Another weekend sweep to start the season would be phenomenal. |

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - No. 30 Ohio State improved to 4-0 with an 11-6 win over North Florida Friday at Harmon Stadium on the campus of UNF. Dan Burkhart had four hits and four RBI and Ryan Dew had three RBI to lead the offensive charge. Six errors by North Florida and a host of oddities turned the game into a strange affair. Ohio State scored its first, first-inning runs of the season by tallying two runs off two hits, two errors, a wild pitch and a past ball. Ohio State hangs on to win 10-8 over North Florida in the second game of the DH to go to 6-0
North Florida had a 5 run 6th to get them back into it after being down 9-3 they loaded the bases with 1 out in the 8th but Jake Hale was able to get out of it without allowing any runs in the 9th they got 2 on with no outs but Hale was able to get out of the inning without allowing any runs once again North Florida hit 3 Home Runs in the game Win- Wolosiansky 5.2 IP 8 H 7 R (6 ER) 3 BB 6 K Save- Hale 1.2 IP 2 H 0 R 1 BB 2 K Ohio State hit 2 home runs of their own (Stephens and Burkhart) top offensive players of the game Hurley 4/6 2B 3 RBI Burkhart 2/5 HR 3 RBI Arp 2/5 2B RBI |
