didn't mean to make it sound like that. Just that after the run we had in the 90's, Smoke Laval's tenure was painful to stomach. Felt like we'd never ake it back to where we were. He was handed the keys to the best college baseball program in the country, and he gave back a bucket full of raw sewage deposited by Charlie Weis after an all night binge at a chinese buffet. ![]() |

Not only was it a walk-off CWS winner, but if he had made an out, LSU would have lost the CWS title. Nobody in the major leagues has ever hit a World Series HR in the same situation (it would have to be in Game 7 with two outs in the 9th inning or later, and trailing on the scoreboard). The homers by Bobby Thompson, Bill Mazerowski, and Joe Carter would not have lost the World Series if they had been caught in the outfield. To me there's a huge difference between a walk-off HR in a tie game, or when there's less than 2 outs, and a walk-off HR where an out means it's all over. And that difference is rarely acknowledged. Morris's HR is not as legendary as it deserves to be. |

Nationally, it's nowhere near as legendary as it should be. In Louisiana, Warren Morris will never have to pay for his own meals as long as he lives. |

I was so happy it was the shorthorns. Gators made the 2005 final, but essentially over-achieved and did not have the pitching to compete with Texas that year.

Who the hell is Warren Morris?

he's the reason I can't ever take Alex Cora seriously.
can only picture him face down on the infield dirt at Rosenblatt crying while we celebrated the title we stole from him! ![]() |

Congratulations to Louisiana State.
