And the winners are:

Cuyahoga County was well represented among the top award winners on the annual Associated Press All-Northeast Lakes District boys basketball team.

Solon's 6-9 junior post Dallas Lauderdale shared the Division I Player of the Year Award with Mentor senior forward Adam May. Bedford's Everett Heard was the big-school co-Coach of the Year with Mentor's Bob Krizancic.

Lauderdale scored 21 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, and blocked 6 shots in a 62-60 win over Bedford.

Lauderdale and Solon defeated Mentor 72-65 last night in the regional semifinal. Dallas scored 22 points and 15 rebounds. Should be an interesting match-up in the regional final and Lauderdale will go up against Canton McKinley and Raymar Morgan.

Lauderdale and Solon saw their season end yesterday in a loss to Mckinley, 68-38. Solon finished their season 23-2.

``I am happy I had the privilege to play against someone like him,'' said Lauderdale, a 6-foot-9 junior who was limited to five points, three rebounds and two blocks.

Dallas seemed to struggle this year against stiff competition, but another summer of AAU ball will go a long way in helping him develop his game and then next year he will play at a much higher level in those games.
