Men's Basketball: Lauderdale Featured in Minnesota Game Program
BIG GUY, BIG PERSONALITY
Ohio State freshman Dallas Lauderdale?s infectious attitude serves as an important role on the team
By Kendra Lee, Ohio State Athletics Communications
With the Big Ten basketball season in full swing, focus and determination are essential in being successful. For Ohio State, another key ingredient to the team?s success is having a little fun and that is exactly freshman Dallas Lauderdale?s cup of tea.
In order to bring smiles to his teammates? faces, there are other ways, besides playing jokes, that Lauderdale accomplishes those feats. He just has to sing.
?I sing all the time,? Lauderdale boasted. ?I sing whatever and whenever, especially in the locker room. It is a lot of R&B music and I?m really smooth with it. Sometimes Evan (Turner) will join in but he can?t sing. I can.?

Bump. Dallas played very well in Madison Square Garden.

From the first time that I saw him play he reminded me of scUM's Robert DeShaun Traylor (aka Tractor). I have always thought that Dallas will eventually be a very good player.

He made the most of the time he got on the floor here in the NIT. Against UMass, he had 5 rebounds, 2 points, a block (should've had 2), and a foul in 9 minutes of action. I wish he would have gotten more time during the year, but he's setting himself up really well for next year. He's going to be the key sub for us next year relieving either Mullens or Koufos (if he stays).
He's gonna be a good one. Reminds me of a smaller version of Ken Johnson, except he's further ahead than Ken at this point (not sure whose ceiling is higher at this point, though).

He has exceeded my expectations over the last couple weeks of the season with his defense and rebounding. All he needs to do is work on his free-throw shooting and his footwork around the basket and he will be a great help next season.
