i read that article and i had to just laugh.
of all people, dave thomas randomly shows up at this woman's house with a giant envelope of cash. disregard the fact that there were several other more high profile players on that 99 team like scoonie or ken johnson, none of whom got visits from dave thomas.
at least this Farb character stood up and rebuked her claim. This one may blow up in her face a bit.

That is unbelievable to spew that kind of crap about a man like Dave Thomas.
Even if for some unknown reason it was true, how can you report something like that as fact in a newspaper based on the comments on that crazed woman?

Looks like Salyers is losing what credibility she had, at least with almost everybody except Hooley. Claiming Dave Thomas showed up with an envelope is a new low.
But will Thomas's family sue her? She's broke, and the publicity would be bad.
Next thing you know Salyers will find somebody's finger in a bowl of chili - oops, somebody beat her to that one!

You gotta love this; on Kathleen Salyers' website she claims that Kim and Dan Roslovic's attorneys, both from major law firms, have notified her attorney (Jeff Lucas, who maintains a small suburban law office) of their intent to file sanctions against him for filing a frivolous lawsuit! http://www.kathleensalyers.com/
Also, she is trying to sell some stuff (an autographed basketball and NIT watch) on ebay to pay for her legal expenses.

After all of this (i. e. lawsuits and NCAA investigation) is said and done; we probably should thank Kathleen, for without her lawsuit:
1) O'Brien wouldn't have been fired.
2) We wouldn't have hired Thad Matta.
3) We wouldn't be getting what could be a top recruiting class in 2006. We are very optimistic that the recruiting classes for future years will be good too.
4) The future of the Ohio State men's basketball program hasn't looked this good since (maybe) the Lucas/Havlicek era.
5) In addition, I believe that we can now be 100% certain that we aren't knowingly violating any NCAA rules.
When Ohio State/Thad Matta wins the National Championship in the 2006/2007 or 2007/2008 season remember to say "thank you Kathleen".
