Many folks are surprised Butler didn't hire him as their head coach...
He'll get his shot soon enough (my guess is after this year... if we're lucky we'll be able to keep him for two)...

It was only a matter of time. Incredible recruiter, and from what I can see Thad relies on him heavily during the course of the game.

For some reason, maybe it is wishful thinking, I think he stays with Matta for a little longer. I know that he is ready to be an HC but I just think that this staff is extremely tight. I have never seen a dollar amount for the assistant basketball coaches... that might be interesting.

Matta and Groce have always been together...If you watch the practices Groce does just as much as Matta...I would say about the only difference between what they do is the amount that Groce makes...
Groce is ready for a big time job and was offered one 2 years ago, not sure where, but he didn't take it...
Wouldn't surprise me to see him get offers and go, but it also wouldn't surprise me if schools come calling and he stays put...
I understand that it is great to have your own team, but he is in a great situation to really get a lot of exposure and is still young and might wait until he gets and offer that he really wants, instead of one that he might not covet...

That is my thinking. Why take a job just to become a HC when you can wait a few years and possibly get a job at a school were the basketball program is a fairly good one already and you don't have to completely rebuild. If he is happy here which I think he most definitely is, I think he stays around for awhile.
