I'd put $50 down that Hairston goes elsewhere. *shrug* We're just not on the same level as Oklahoma, Kansas, or even UCLA and Oregon.Since when is Oklahoma on the same level as the Kansas's and Duke's?

Nix - I'm with you that we're probably a more appealing and certainly more recently successful program than Michigan (although I think they just won the NIT...not sure). If you look back, it was Oklahoma, UCLA, Oregon and most notably Kansas who I think we lose out to.
Star - Oklahoma's not on the same level as Kansas. They're just looking better than we are at the moment, in my opinion.
I understand that the Hairstons have said a lot to give Buckeye fans hope, but he's an amazing prospect. Picking us over Kansas would be a total anomaly; something akin to a guy like Ginn Jr. going to a school like Iowa or Illinois. Like I said before - I really, really want the kid to pick tOSU. A lot. Nevertheless, I don't believe that he will.

We've far more basketball appeal and tradition than Oregon and Oklahoma.

I think that's arguable, for certain. I'm not knocking tOSU here - I'm a big supporter and have a good friend on the team. My point is that regardless of what has come out of the Hairston camp, it's a little irrational to consider ourselves the favorite, especially with Kansas in the equation. So therefore this:
Malik will be a buckeye. Believe in tOSU, not just tOSU Football. We are usualy one of the best in the bigten, which is one of the best conferences for college bball. Folks recognize our hoops squad more than yawl think. He's ours !
...just makes no sense to me. That's all.
