UNC had some bad teams for a while. When Shachefski leaves Dook will have their crap run.

Mike Krzyzewski Assures Duke Players That Team Is Ranked 26th
February 15, 2007 | Issue 43?07
CHAPEL HILL, NC - Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski reassured his slumping basketball team, which fell from the national top-25 rankings for the first time in 11 years following losses to Virginia, Florida State, UNC, and Maryland that they are in fact the very first team to have fallen off the charts. "Don't worry, gentlemen, we're the first team listed once you get past all the those teams there in the poll," Krzyzewski said in a post-practice team meeting at which he unveiled a banner stating the new team philosophy, "Unbeaten In Practice Equals Practically Unbeaten." "Duke is not just another also-ran--we're the top shelf of the second tier of college basketball." Krzyzewski blamed his team's recent fall in the rankings to a combination of unusually even-handed officiating, and "vengeful" opposing teams "running up the score" to a total of one or more points than Duke's.

That picture is not from the play where Hansbrough got hurt. Looked dirty to me...

i go to duke, and here's my take on it:
hansbrough was going for a big dunk in a show boat effort. he could have just held on to the ball to run the clock out. if we were really still trying to get back in the game, then we would foul him and sent him to the line. rather, hansbrough took it strong to the hole. gerald did not want any of this showboating, and thus he went for the hard foul to send a physical message. it was not a punch or anything premeditated like that. it was just a hard foul for pride. unfortunately, it turned out poorly. i'm sure he would take it back if he could.
i feel that ejection was sort of appropriate because of the hostile environment. but did he really have to be suspended from the acc tourney game? (i'm not sure if it's possible to be ejected but not be suspended a game?)
anyways, that's my take on it. please don't flame me. i love the bucks too. born and raised in cleveland, but this is my school and i love duke as well.

i personally hate duke more than any college bball team on the planet however i dont see this being intentional and i personally dont even think it was purposely a hard foul. the ball was going everywhere in a scuffle and and hansbrough tried what looked to be a shot and henderson just jumped into a pack trying to go for a block, looked away, and nailed hansbrough in the face. i dont think he really should have even been ejected or suspended really. i dont have much of a problem with unc but i strongly dislike hansbrough and his antics. sure you got decked in the face and and then you lay on the court for forever and then decide to get back up and try to make a statement. this whole situation is so blown out of proportion its ridiculous. accidents happen.
